It was a decision of the director and scriptwriters. Although very painful for me, I consider it very timely. Season 5 deserved a good closing, emotional and hopeful. Monty and Harper made that possible. On the other hand, Monty did not want to fight anymore, neither on earth nor on another planet. I just wanted to live in the space where I was happy. His 6 years after the wave of death were excellent for him. And that's why he decided not to sleep in cryogenics. I cried a lot with this ending. Monty has been an excellent character, human, sensitive, friend of Jasper, couple of Harper. And always looking to be a mediator in the midst of discord. Rest in peace Monty
