lotus made 2 of the esprit race cars in 1993 with partnership with chamberlain to run the race team , same 2 cars used for 1994 under same agreement. For 1995 lotus went it alone and refreshed one of the 2 1994 cars into the 1995 car raced by Zanardi, the other 1994 car was used for the show car of the 1996 GT1.

both of these 1993 cars still exist and are in the UK as well as the 1996 GT1 car number 21 driven by hezemans and portman in the 1996 BPR

Tiff is a REAL and PROPER motor show presenter. He shows great knowledge of the cars he tests but more importantly actually knows how to properly drive the cars too. @#£% Clarkson and his constant overprivilidged bollocks, Tiff is the real mans motoring journalist.

True story: Early 90's at Silverstone. I heard some guy walked up to an XJ220, got in it, drove it away. I heard they got it back and he just wanted to go for a drive, didn't want to steal it.

MontyMotorsport The XJR-15 test is already up on KZbin. As is his 962 and Allard Group C test/features. Never seen his XJR-9 test. BTW, thanks for all the uploads. A real goldmine. Although I followed the very latter years of Group C. The GT1 era was when I really got immersed. Can remember so many of the BPR/FIA GT videos.

Yep kinda, but highly redeveloped by TWR. Much like the current McLaren V8 engine is a highly redeveloped 80's Nissan racing engine. 😉

Yes. But the Jaguar XJR-10/11/16 Group C/IMSA sports prototypes got the twin turbo version first., starting in 1989.

Worth noting the Jaguar got disqualified a month or so after the 1993 race

One bizarre thing I found out about this is that they got DQ'd despite being approved by Scrutineering before the race and despite successfully winning the appeal, they still weren't allowed to keep their win due to a "Technicality".

The road cars had catalytic converters, but the race car did not. So it was always running under protest.
