The entire site is impressive (and MASSIVE, I might add), but the relief carvings are particularly stunning and just so life-like. They really capture the movement of their subjects and you feel as if the various gods, chariots, soldiers and elephants will pop right off the rock face. Incredible.

Again great video, you should visit few more places in TN like Madurai, Srirangam,Chidambaram, Rameshwaram,Kanyakumariand Thanjavur. Madurai has the world's Largest functioning temple and Thanjavur has one of worlds oldest temple.

I visited Madurai and Rameshwaram, and I got some good clips from there but I am hesitant to release video, as the main temples there do not allow shooting inside :(
@snagansur8 жыл бұрын
Amazing Places on Our Planet yes many temples in India do not allow shooting inside the temple but if you request the temple authorities saying you're journalist they might allow you. If you say KZbin and vloger they might be hesistant. Even if you get the permission they will not allow to film the main diety except few places but you can shoot the architecture and rest of the temple.
@milosh9k8 жыл бұрын
shridhar nagansur I tried this desperately in Madurai, as the temple there is stunning and of high histirical and architectural value, but it didn't help, maybe I did not find the right people, whoever I talked to told me to go to some office in Chennai for permission :(
@snagansur8 жыл бұрын
Amazing Places on Our Planet I would suggest you to take help of locals or contact Administration directly and get all the necessary permits prior to visit them. Every major functioning temple will have a site like this www.maduraimeenakshi.tnhrce.in/admin.aspx where Administration details will be there and you can contact them directly. Non functioning temples fall under ASI (Archaeological Survey of India) and local Government Administration, they also will have sites and you can contact them. If you are trying to get permit through locals either you should have a friend who knows local language or take help of tourist guides (they might charge you for this). Since you're outsider I would prefer contacting them directly and then if that doesn't work go for the second option. But they will allow you shoot everything except inside where main diety is there.

Compare Indian architecture from different states to different countries above I said. Also invasion of Muslims also brought some they copied from middle East.
