Oh my god I've been using it like this and my friends don't understand how. This is so convenient not just for softwares, but also for writing essays and making music or watching a series while working or just learning a software on one side on youtube simultaneously. It is just so great. It can be used for blender, escape, autocad, revit, adobe, sketchup, FLstudio, (unfortunately not for lumion), and so on. Endless possibilities. Use wired connection for a better experience (duet for 10 bucks) . Connect to a port with at least 10watt output. Better if you had thunderbolt3, even better if you had an ipad Pro with the type-c. Find the most comfortable dpi setting for both your screens. Only use ipad as a secondary screen. RIP mac users. Not as flexible for mac as it is for windows.

If you are not able to pull up the menu to extend the display, try pressing windows key + P, it should bring up the same menu and let you extend it instead of mirroring.

Thank you. Using my iPad Air 3 as a third monitor now. It was laggy at full res (1536p); downgraded the resolution to 768p and things are much better and definitely usable. On a side note, I don't know what the cause of the lag was- the app itself, the A12 processor, the cable, Windows 11, my i5 10210u, integrated graphics and so the list goes :D

I am really happy to find this tutorial step by step! I had already spent money in an app to extend my screen in the past, and unfortunatelly, it was not compatible to my pc windows (it worked only in macs). So I was sure I was going to find a free way out! Only thing for me it is a bit slow if you use, for example, photoshop software from the computer in the Ipad with the pen. But it is worth to have a second screen!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing and explaning so well.

Informative. Tried it and worked. For Mac users make sure you're looking at the bar where your battery and clock is. I thought a screen would open up, but its a little widget. Once you click that you just connect via air drop. You definitely saved me some cash.

Pretty great app! It was acting pretty dumb for a good minute but I finally managed to get my ipad to work as a second screen. I installed itunes on my laptop but It didn't wanna recognize it until I restarted my laptop, opened the splashscreen application on my laptop and unplugged and replugged my ipad back into my laptop.

if you cant make the menu pop up to pick extend instead of mirror , just scroll down on the normal menu , and you will find the option under multiple displays

Good tip, good explanation too....question, how do I retain touch functionality on iPad though, this work great but the iPad lost the touch functionality, and the app I need to run on the iPad screen requires the full iPad touch screen to work. Windows 10 does not allow me to perform a touch calibration and touch allocation with this screen, it would be great if I can get the normal iPad touch screen to still remain a touch screen....advice will be highly appreciated, thanks.

Hi! This trick really helped and I was successfully able to turn my iPad into a secondary display! Thanks a tonne! But when working on photoshop, the resolution of my canvas doesn't seem to be good enough to see the details I'm working on when I move it to the iPad screen where I wish to draw using my apple pencil. I faced the following issues (Tried connecting a Windows 10 machine to an iPad): 1) The secondary display, though wired was laggy. 2) The display used to get disconnected quite often I was unable to fix it, for those who are facing the same issues on their PC, I found another alternative namely 'Spacedesk' which was smooth, seamless and free as well. @Mooch if you ever get the time, you can cover that app as well.

I was facing an issue with the connection, it was just mirroring but not extending as an extended display. I was able to resolve the issue by setting up with space desk and now both splash top and space desk is working with extended display. It’s workaround but works well.
