Robb was named after Robert Baratheon, a King's name who became the king. Jon was named after Jon Arryn, the godfather of Ned and Robert. It would make sense if Jon becomes the Hand for Danaerys lol

Destroyed two of the three Lannister armies, made better battle plans than his more experienced commanders, and outmanoeuvring some of his enemies despite their greater experience too, like Tywin Lannister. So yeah he was a great commander and great strategistvwho know what would have happen if he had respected his part of the bargain with Walder Frey and marry one of is daughter. Maybe he would have won the war of the Five Kings

You can clearly see the moment the smiling mask on Rob's face fell away revealing pure pain, the face of a little boy who was going to scream and cry to stop his brother from leaving if he could; it's an unmistakable expression, a lump-in-the-throat moment for Rob...he didn't want to let go when they embraced😢 Oh Lord!....this scene taking me to that place of suppressed pain! @@YoitsGoose Robb just gave the impression of a man who lived by the rules of the time, but was overall a nice guy. No intrigue, just lived. And you involuntarily become imbued with it. And after his death, you become even more imbued with it, because you increasingly begin to realize the injustice against the most sincere characters. Robb was never the best, but he was always himself in the hearts of the audience.

The week it happened, EVERYONE was talking about it. Started reading the books after season 3 because GoT was so good. The books draw you in a lot more and give you extreme anxiety with the way the red wedding and purple wedding are set up and executed. I remember my heart racing with what happened in each of the ceremonies. And they both happen in the same book- A Storm of Swords. I guess the writers of the show wanted to leave us hanging after the Red Wedding to get our revenge.

His name isn't gonna be Aegon in the books though, it doesn't make any sense for Rhaegar to name two sons the same name. It makes the most sense for him to be named Aemon. Jon idolized Aemon the Dragonknight as a child, and Maester Aemon tells Sam that he was in regular contact with Rhaegar about the Azor Ahai prophecy.

Aemon wouldn't do it, but Aegon would. I have no doubt. No doubt at all they intended to name him Aemon, but Rhaegar and little Aegon were now died. And She needed to make a point to her brother. And she would not want her son raised as a bastard, but safe and prepared for what's to come. He is the King after all. And Robert was a usurper.

Like changing Asha to Yara because show wise they would’ve sounded too similar. For the show’s sake, naming Jon Aegon would’ve also been a nod to Young Griff in the books. Jahaerys would’ve been an unknown name in the show, but in the books it would make sense.

Robb might’ve become one of the best generals ever, he hadn’t lost a battle until they broke the guest law. House Frey broke a law more sacred than the words of the crown. If you invite someone into your house, neither of you can harm the other. It was the only way you could get people to go to your house if they’re a lord. Why risk your life by going into someone’s castle full of their men for a dinner you could’ve had at home. Any wedding would’ve been surrounded by soldiers.

Imagine is Jon was legitimised at birth by King Bobby B; how different the show would've gone. Ygritte would likely never meet him, Arya may have never been gifted Needle, Jon never would've learnt of the Wights or been gifted Longclaw, He could've been killed during the Red Wedding or on the flip side, he may have stayed at Winterfell stopping Theon or Ramsey's takeovers. A lot could have gone differently. Its a curious thing to think about.

In the books, Robb told his Mother Catelyn that he wanted to name Jon his heir even though Jon was already in the Night's Watch. Catelyn was strictly against it and protested it, so Robb made the announcement in front of all his bannermen and Catelyn accepted she had lost, knowing all the King's bannermen had bared witness to his decree.
