This park is very unique actually because of its old oak forest. Like a relict of the open oak forests that used to cover much of Europa before they were logged!

Some of those images were fantastic. The shot of the stag/buck was very fairy taleish and also my favorite. He seems to be telling you to follow him to some elvish encounter in the forest. I wish I had trees like those where I live. All there is here is straight trunked pines and aspens.

I did shoot a lot of photos, I've watched a lot of inspiring youtube videos of woodland photography, I am one of those "forest people", and generally - I'm frequent like on youtube: "it's nothing new - I've seen this". This video though... my jaw dropped. AMAZING. Not only the trees and location. The way you showed it to us is amazing. Thank you for that. You made me feel like I'm going to get up tomorrow morning and go to the woods :) And I'm really mad that I can't be among those beautiful trees...

For the last photo, I actually think this newest shot is superior. The stark darker value on that central tree gets a bit lost in the super colorful prior rendition. In this foggy fairytale version, it stands as the dominant focal point- set against a wide spread of soft mid-range values. It just jumps right out of the photo- capturing that kind of "beckoning" vibe you alluded to with your backstory of being a gateway to/from the fairy world. Fun stuff, as always! I'm across the ocean in Manhattan and yet, there is a park along the western river front that feels remarkably similar to this setting. Every time I venture out of the high rise buildings and bike paths, cross the wall, and descend down into it... I always feel like I'm entering a different world. It's so wild to me that you're in such a completely different situation but having the same experience.

Super inspirational Mads! This area you photographed reminds me so much of our floodplain forests we have here in western Wisconsin (mud included!) The image of the deer with antlers between the gnarly old trees is such a beautiful, story-telling image. Another Wednesday that was worth the wait!

Early this week the forecast called for fog in Dyrehaven on Sunday (today) So combined with your video I decided to get up early and get out there and use your Denmark map to find the gnarly trees. Btw thanks for keeping the map updated with new locations regularly. Little did I know that my cell phone coverage in Dyrehaven is almost non existing, so not much help from your map. But then again, who needs a map in Dyrehaven when the sun is rising and the fog lies heavily among the trees. Oh my God! What a morning. Thank you for the incentive to get up and get out and enjoy that beautiful place in those wonderful conditions.
