It grows fine in your place. I live in the tropics. I am mad of this plant. But struggling to grow it here.

Awww I am sorry your are struggling with String of Pearls. Too much moisture can definitely cause problems for this succulent. Are you growing indoors or outdoors?

It is like my baby. I put it under a CFL indoors in the night. And during day time I put it in bright light.

When I put the cuttings in the water is it okay for some of the actual pearls to go in the water? I know with leaves I am supposed to cut off leaves that would go in the water. And….I had no idea they would be so easily rooted thanks.
@moodyblooms2 жыл бұрын
You can, but they will most likely rot. It is fine if they do, just be sure to change out the water weekly to keep it clean.

Hi, question: How do I get my pearls to be larger. My string of pearls are compact, green and healthy but small. When I got them they were about 3/8" in diameter but now they are about half that. When I give them more light they get stressed, turn yellowish to brownish on top of the pearls and still green underneath. Can't strike a happy medium. thanks!
@moodyblooms2 жыл бұрын
Try adding more indirect, bright light. They may be due for some fertilizer as well. amzn.to/3oWesuF

@@moodyblooms When I give them more light they turn brown on top. the brown goes away when I give them less light. They get indirect.
@moodyblooms Жыл бұрын
If they are turning brown in sun, it’s too hot or too much direct sun. It’s an actual sunburn, just like humans.

Thanks for another great video! I am wondering how long you think the string of pearls can grow in water? Mine is very nicely rooted and I enjoy passive hydroponics. In your experience, can they grow indefinitely in water?
@moodyblooms Жыл бұрын
Honestly, I m not quite sure. I have had some in water that I forgot about and they are still thriving 2 years later. Just be sure to switch the water out to keep them healthy!

I received a String of Pearls for Mother’s Day but it looks like it’s dying already. I water lightly once a week. Any suggestions?
@moodyblooms4 ай бұрын
Once a week seems like too much. Are you waiting until the soil is completely dry? Pearls will start to slightly pucker when in need of water. I’d hold off on watering until then.

Very soothing to watch. I’d like a string of pearls, but I’d have to put it on top of my glass cabinet out of reach of my cat. She’d make cuttings of her own.🙄

Hi. How long will it take for them to root in water?
@moodyblooms Жыл бұрын
It should be pretty quick. It depends on your climate. Mine root anywhere from a few days to a few weeks.

Please let me know what is soil type for string of pearls
@moodyblooms Жыл бұрын
A well-draining soil is best. Cactus soil or any potting soil amended with perlite or pumice works great!

anywhere from 1-4 weeks. just depends on climate and temperature. give it a try!
@andrewrichmond9764 Жыл бұрын
Doesn't say much or show about rooting in water
@moodyblooms Жыл бұрын
There really isn't much to rooting in water. Cuttings can go straight into water. Depending on your climate you should see roots in 1-4 weeks. Once rooted you can transfer to soil. Hope that helps! Have a great night.
