Hey my man, i love this kind of content and tech side of electronics! I play guitar but this is something that looks fun to do like messing with chips and boards, i have so many questions like where did you learn your expertise in this niche and where could someone possibly learn or study this subject? It's about to be 2024 and a lot of music gear has some kind of electrical side of things which is a part of the industry that fascinates me a lot. Did you go to school for this? And where could someone get started in learning stuff like this? Im sure there are trades that teach this too but anyway keep up the awesome content, I look forward to hearing back from you !

Hello nowadays you can learn everything you need on youtube. Also, there are people offering classes through patreon and other websites. There are are many options. As for me, I went to school in the 90's and have a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering.

Nice repair. Any thoughts on a unit that powers up and functions properly but with no sound? I have proper voltages and audio probed at the 4272 input, but not sure where to go next.

That's a tough one. I would check to make sure the voltages are getting to the actual op amps. They should be around +9V and -9V. I would also go backwards probe the signal starting at the output and trace it backwards to see where it is coming from. It will be difficult without a schematic.

@@signalsandbits Yeah I have all the appropriate voltages. I don't think im getting correct outputs from the Cirrus IC. I don't have an oscilloscope, but I think my next step is to swap the 4272

@@signalsandbits Yup it didn't work lol. Nothing changed. I do get the bypass audio. The audio coming out of SDout of the 4272 is HIGHLY distorted, but it at least is the guitar signal. It then goes to the daughterboard, and I lose it from there. Nothing seems wrong on the daughterboard, but I'm guessing that's where an issue is. I also don't seem to have audio on any of the other pins.

Mine is blinking yellow when turns it on and no sound… do you think it could be fixed too?

Try a factory reset. Sometimes that will fix it. If that doesnt work you can email me.
