This is probably a dumb question, but would optimal behavior be a continuous sound no matter where you placed the red and black leads (so long as they're along the same bar)? Patchy sound comes from minute differences in where the leads touch as you're measuring, so it's showing a presence of film (under at least one of the leads) in at least some areas? Something like the angle changing slightly as you hold maybe increasing the surface area from the very tip of a lead to along the side, upping the odds of finding a path SOMEWHERE between the leads, or sliding over a millimeter? And then no sound, so long as the device is on, means the area around at least one of the leads is pretty solidly covered? I THINK the sound is just binary - if there's a path from where the red lead touches to where the black lead touches. (I repair my own electronics, but circuit stuff is something I've no background in. Want to make sure I'm interpreting what's going on properly before I take something abrasive to the metal in our dryer. Have a cheap multimeter from Temu and have it set to test for connectivity, but since we can't see your meter the entire time, I want to make sure this is more about the sounds than any number displayed. Thanks for posting this video!)

It is about the sound. The beep means continuity. Since it is a solid bar it should be continuous. The reason it stops beeping is because the bar has a film on it . That's why I used the Sandpaper to remove the film. You can try a scotch Brite pad

@@signalsandbits Theoretically, could you take the two places that wire connects to the metal bars and connect them together to bypass the moisture sensor? Closed circuit means clothing is still wet, so if you connect the two wires together, the dryer will always think clothes are still wet and run for the entire duration rather than deciding clothes are dry 10 minutes early and stopping to save power? I haven't removed the sensor yet to see those wires on our model (it's definitely the same part as yours), but it seems like it should work. Just don't know if there's a good pre-made piece to connect them or if it'd need wire stripping and twisting and/or soldering. People talk about having issues with that sensor if they do small loads, so doing this seems like it'd bypass a lot of potential trouble.

Awesome video first off very informative and love the depth you go into explaining everything, thanks for that. I just bought the exact amp a month or so ago and hadn't even tried it until last night and it comes on fine everything seemed to function properly but no sound. The clipping light becomes more green as i strum the guitar so i'm guessing i may have a similar problem, battery leakage and dead battery. Ugh very disappointing i paid $200 for it and we met at his work so it was in his vehicle so didn't get a chance test it he seemed genuine and honest enough so i went ahead and bought it. I am going to take it apart myself and take a quick look to see if there is anything obvious. This video will help enormously thank you again.

Very helpful video!! What would you recommend for a dryer that’s brand new? Surely there’s nothing built up on the sensors. It stopped drying after 10 minutes the first time I used it, and the clothes were definitely still wet.
@signalsandbits
@signalsandbits Ай бұрын
Manually set the time to more than 10 minutes. This will bypass the sensors because you set it to a specific time (that's how mine works). If it still shuts off early then its likely not the sensors. Other than that, I would contact the manufacturer if its new they usually give 90 day warranty. Under the warranty they would send someone to your house to fix it.

Great video, I have to replace the battery on my AddVerb II also, Can I replace the battery with easy replaceable coin batteries instead of having to solder and unsoldering. Seems like it would be easier to replace the factory battery with something more user friendly. Thanks, glad I found your video.
@signalsandbits
@signalsandbits 2 ай бұрын
The AddVerb II uses the same battery so you would have to use a 3.7V NiMH or Ni-cad rechargeable battery. You cannot use a single coin cell. The charging circuit is designed for NiMH or Ni-cad. There is really no other way to do it. You will need to remove the old one and solder in a new one.
