I second that someone who understands sound design that is classic back in the 70s - late 80s funk & RnB. This is exactly what I was looking for to compliment my VSTs but I have the real analog bass like that west coast gfunk. Now I’m sold I’m buying one and it will be my travel board with laptop. Very well done bro you get the triple plat fire 💿💿💿🔥

Fantastic stuff. Love my GM for old school synth sounds. Amazing instrument, and looking forward to diving more into the 70s funk.

The way I’ve been saving my patches is I just create a copy of the values well as close as I can on another one of my synths or sometimes I take a picture or write them down on my notes section in my iPhone hope this helps

Last patch is verging on 303 territory. Nice. Love my GM.

Thanks for giving some MUSICAL examples...instead of just weird blippy bloopy patches. The weird stuff is fun, but not enough reason for me to shell out $1K.

I felt the same way before I bought mine... I have since made all kinds of styles to show off its capabilities
@LeviHeld6 жыл бұрын
You really will like it! It's a great synth for any style really

Don’t be fooled, the GM is one of the most versatile synths I’ve owned. So much packed into it and so many things to discover.

Yes. I'm tired of seeing all this same arp going with them just turning knobs....Please show some more musical examples..

Thanks! Nice sounds and good explanations... you seem to know what naturally works together.

Thanks! yeah the GM is very similar to my Dotcom box11 just way more playable in my current set up! but having that familiarity helped when it came to learning the GM.

My Grandmother sounds nothing like yours. I’ve copied your settings exactly and I can’t get it to sound the same for some reason! .. With the Cutoff Filter completely off, how are you getting that quack from patch 1? Thanks
@derailedamazementisfuzzy3 жыл бұрын
same here idk what we're doing wrong but when I copy the first patch it sounds a lot "wetter" and doesn't have the same bite
@volcomwave2 жыл бұрын
Same here! Mine sounds so muffled and his sounds so bright!

Most likely to be my next synth.
@sebasevita4 жыл бұрын
do you a preset sheet for the first bass?
@PontusWittenmark6 жыл бұрын
Nice n juicy! Could you maybe do one for percussive sounds as well? With that sequencer the Grandmother should be able to do double duty as a drum machine..
@LeviHeld6 жыл бұрын
Yeah I can work on that for the next gear video. I will probably have a nice jam posted up soon too!

What amp would work best? I'm using this moog for mainly deep bass stuff so I'm guessing a bass amp.
@LeviHeld5 жыл бұрын
A bass amp would work great but i would recommend getting an actual keyboard amp. The behringer kxd12 has been working great for me but roland is the ultimate go to

Just subscribed ! Any way you could compare this to the MOOG SUB 37 ??
@analogsynthplayer5 жыл бұрын
I played both and got the grandmother because it’s less expensive, simpler to operate, no display to need repair, no presets. Straight forward fun, similar to the minimoog d. I’ve owned many old analogs and this synth is great. Getting a second one very soon. Patches are easy, fun and rewarding when you find that special one that you created

@MikeHunt907315 жыл бұрын
the first patch sounds like nothing you demonstrated and i can t understand, also with the filter cutoff all the way down, no sound at all
@HotStrange5 жыл бұрын
Mike Hunt not necessarily. Do some more research and watch again.
@MikeHunt907315 жыл бұрын
@@HotStrange what i really need or needs to happen is a patch book, just like the one that came with grandmother. I still can t figure out how to really utilize her.

What do You mean? Do You have any information cause I can’t make it sound right either
@cpwn20692 жыл бұрын
It's more like GrandMother(f%$#er). Usually I do something which activates the sequencer and can only be undone by returning it to Guitar Center.

Nice sounds but you are playing chameleon wrong, in the key of C the right hand is Bb, C, (the 7th and root of the C7 chord) then when the chord changes to the 4th (F in this key) the right hand would be C, Eb. (the 5th and 7th of the F7 chord)
@soepil2 жыл бұрын
Could be played wrong for copyright reasons. I've seen this on other KZbin-videos.
