As a former owner of a model D this excited me until I tried to buy it and was told it wouldn't run on my older iPad. I guess I'll get the Behringer model D instead.

So..the Arturia minimoog has been around for some time, and now the synth made by the original comes along. A comparison of both would be nice. The Arturia runs also with older devices, so is the Moog made better? Many will still buy the Moog , you know, low price tag and ....G.A.S.

Hello for recording, you can use a iOS DAW (Auria Pro, Cubasis) or a recording app like AudioShare. On the keyboard side, with the Apple Camera Connection Kit, you can connect any kind of MIDI controller to it. Cheers

Thanks Martin. That works already. Connect your iPad to your Macbook Pro via the lightning cable and activate in the Audio/Midi Settings in the iOS Device browser your iPad. Than you can select your iOS device in your DAW as audio & midi input. Cheers

There are many bluetooth keyboards available that works fine. CME xKey, AKAI LPK 25 Wireless (reviewed), several KORG controllers etc. ;)

As it from the same team that did Model 15 ..I’m sure it would be fantastic. Animog needs an update but I have a feeling the app was written by a different team or it was an outsourced development at the time.

Wish some time was spent on making new sounds . Not all of us have experienced using a modeled so would have been nice here some tips on sound design

Well it's a first look of the app not a video for sound design. The app comes with over 160 built-in presets where you can already see how sounds are designed. The Minimoog is a relative easy to learn synth that especially is good for beginners. I prefer that people play with the synth and turn knobs to see what happens with the sounds. There are ton of sounds available on old patch sheets (on the internet) where you can re-programmed them. Moog released also this app for a education reason that beginners can play around with the concept of a subtractive synth. Cheers

Hello people. Do you know what happens to your apps when the company who represents it goes out of business? You stop getting sound on them or you are unable to download it back as well. Your money has just vanished. A problem lots of people got but no one talks about it or comments are just deleted, Cakewalk Z3ta is a famous example. After problems like that, you just ask yourself if its worth investing in apps.

nothing agains hardware. Apps are great for portability. You can play them in the park on your iPad or in the train what is often with hardware not possible. Don't want to compare both worlds. Hardware is hardware and software is software.

I m not buying any app which boycotts lower ipad version owners, those who cannot afford the newest ios devices. Not compatible with even ipad 4 and 3, not compatible with the device of many people. Even ipad 4 and 3, planned obsolescence at its best. At least ppg not doing that with people. Shame on you!

Manfred klaus using good software instruments on an iPad really consumes.CPU power. I got an iPad Pro because the mini couldn‘t play more than 4 tracks in Cubasis. What you say is like telling us you will never buy a car again because now people fly to the moon and your car can‘t. It‘s the same reason Moog doesn‘t release their Apps for Android. Quality demands some threshholds.

Manfred klaus If it were Apple applying this rule about compatibility with older ipad versions, then you might have a point re obscelence. But it isn't in moog's interest to limit their market to those who can run this device... There has to be a platform reason... What's not clear is whether the older ipad hardware is indeed able to run the new software required by this app, or whether Apple decided not to port the newer platform capabilities to the older hardware, for that very obscelence reason you mentioned.. Like fir example, the apple pen, needs ipad 2018, even tho ipad 2017 ≈ ipad 2018, spec-wise..

Its not Apple, its the unability of developers to follow up leaving customes frustrated. when z3ta of cakewalk went out of people, people just lost their money, there was no sound from the app. Not even the app in the A store. so no sound and your are unable to dwld it back if you made the mistake to delete it.
