I never knew about surface crocheting, thank for the info and demonstration. I make these organizers for our county nursing homes, ones to hang down the bedside and also another version for wheelchair backs and side arms.

Ohmygosh. More useful things like this! I don't need shawls or blankets or doilies. I need solutions to simple problems like how to carry 3 pairs of reading glasses and my phone around my neck without looking stupid. LOL I'm actually trying out an idea of how to make a key wallet using crochet. I think it will be able to solve problems that normal key wallets can't solve. Srsly. Useful things like this!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Love this! I am making one for myself & my hairdresser ( she was wanting something to hold her remotes & phone in at the end of her new sofa). If these turn out as easy as your instructions my kids will be getting for Christmas too! Thank you for sharing!! 🥰

This is such a brilliant but simple pattern to follow, thanks so much for this tutorial! I'm still very new to following written patterns for crochet but am getting better, so having a video tutorial as well helps so much, thank you! Even though this was made years ago I'm so glad to have found it now so that I can make some for Christmas gifts this year, fantastic! :) Just subscribed as I can tell you're going to become very handy! 😃

Hi, thanks for post. I just signed on to get dimensions because I’m using my own design, but since the post was so wordy and too long. I ended up fast-forwarding. Instead, you could just add side bars to your post with basic info, ie dimensions, worked in dc, sc to close, etc, and we’d be on your way in one minute vs half an hour. Just trying to be helpful for your future posts.

As an afterthought, if I am wanting to make this for the couch version, how much longer do you think as an average guess amount, will I need to do to allow enough extra length for tucking under the couch seat/cushion please? As I mentioned below, I am planning to make some couch ones for Christmas gifts but they are for people that I will be sending them to, so have to take a guess as to the dimensions of their couches and can't measure them myself, so was hoping you could give me an idea as to how much more length I should add on to allow for this. Thanks so much for your help, and also for responding below. 😊

36" total length ought to do it, based on ones that I've seen available for purchase! :)

I wish I could switch colors too but the ECQ is making it hard to go out 😅

I made one of these, not nearly as pretty, for the remotes in my living room. The sofa it hangs off is not next to a wall and it hangs off the back of the sofa.
