Thank you so much for the wonderful instruments and these helpful videos. I have been working with the mother 32 and the subharmonicon in a 2 tier rack. While I find all the videos about the mother/dfam helpful, I have been looking for more interconnectivity videos on these two specifically and have not found many. If you could ever make more on the mother 32 and subharmonicon working together I would be stoked. Thanks for all you do.

That is so wonderful. I like how you play it even though I have no idea how to play that thing.

This does seem needlessly complicated, tbh. Those two devices are supposed to fit each other like a glove, but starting and stopping sequences requires 5+ button presses even after menu diving an invisible menu structure to set it up... a dedicated sync in and out would have made this infinitely more usable, midi of course even more so.

The menu diving isn't necessary, but they always show it in the Moog videos in case you set it to something else during a previous session and forgot. The Mother 32 specifically as that assign out isn't at ½ tempo by default. Sure MIDI on the DFAM would have been nice, but I my thinking has always been that the mother line is friends of eurorack, which is all CV 1st anyways. MIDI in on the Mother makes it friendly for playing it as its more a musical thing vs the DFAM which is percussive patterns; not something you'd normally think of for MIDI in euro rack anyways. (I do get from say a DAW You might want to send drum midi to the DFAM, but in that case you may have other external more traditional drum machines. Because DFAM isnt' really a drum machine. it's a percussive synth.) My $0.02

Does the DFam and the M32 have to have an assigned audio output to a amplifier to hear the M32 and the DFam play along with the Grandmother.

Very cool. Can you MIDI-sync the Grandmother or the DFAM like you can with the Mother 32?
@Daphoid3 жыл бұрын
DFAM doesn't have MIDI capabilities so you'd need a CV to MIDI converter, or just stick with CV as in this video :)

Thinking about selling my Moog sub phatty To buy the grandmother, would you?

I keep mine, because it's a REAL benefit to save presets. If you want to step into the modular world, i recommend the Neutron from Behringer. Stunningly more possibilities than a Grandmother or Mother-32. I know, it's Behringer. But the Neutron just blew me away. I'm not on a budget, i own the DFAM, Sub Phatty and Sub37 on the Moog side of things, but the Grandmother is just not competing with Behringer's attack on the modular/analogue market.

At 2:39 when I stop the arpeggio, the Mother keeps going?

Hi i’ve tried this patch but with my matriarch. The mother32 Run too fast, not as in your video and i’ve done the same passages as u. I dont understand where i Made the mistake.
@Daphoid3 жыл бұрын
I believe the matriarch can send different things from its clock out. Check the global settings on that front.

How would you sync the subharmonicon to all of this?

I’d like to find out also, have you found anything on it yet?
@Daphoid3 жыл бұрын
Forget the devices specifically (as it doesn't matter). Think of the core concepts. Clock is coming from the grandmother to the Mother, then the clock is being sent half speed from the Mother 32 to the DFAM. Easiest way would be to take clock out from GM into a Mult, then one into Subharmonicon tempo in, and another the tempo in on the M32 like in this video.
