Links etc are below, for purchasing the app as well as for supporting my work, thank you! This video is a walkthrough of the lovely and totally free new app / plugin Moon Echo by AudioThing and Hainbach. Moon Echo works standalone and is also a plugin for Mac, Linux, Windows, iPad and iPhone. It allows you to emulate what it would sound like to use radio telescopes to create an echo / delay effect, or even just to add a nice lofi touch to your voice or whatever music you feed it. I tell the full and very interesting story of the history of using the moon in this way in the video, a story that takes in the US military research known as ‘Project Diana, Pauline Oliveros’s experimental music performance “Echoes from the Moon”, and more. This video is a little different from my usual vids, please smash the like and write a comment if you enjoyed it. If you are new here, and you are interested in experimental music, music production app walkthroughs etc, on iOS mainly but also featuring some desktop apps, feel free to subscribe and hit the notifications bell. Thanks for watching! Oh - Remember, if you are ever buying desktop plugins available on Plugin Boutique, it would be great if you use my link, it costs you nothing, but I get a little kickback, thank you so much! If you regularly buy apps there, perhaps bookmark this link in your browser, every little bot helps: 🟧 My Plugin Boutique Link: www.pluginboutique.com/?a_aid=65c7016dea38b I made this video on an iPad, inside the host app AUM. This is a great host to run your other iOS music production apps inside, and you can watch my walkthrough on it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/onmwd4yQrpKJhpI Moon Echo IOS Version: apps.apple.com/app/moon-echo/id6503342104 Moon Echo Desktop version: www.audiothing.net/effects/moon-echo/ Available as Standalone and AUv3. Also available for desktop (Mac, Linux, Windows) 🟪 Support Me, While Getting Lots Back! I make next to nothing from KZbin (it works out at around £3 per 1000 views - yes, it is brutally low, and views are tiny in this small iOS music niche). If you are a dev, asking if I am interested in doing a sponsored video is a good way to ensure I can keep doing this work for the long term, and if you are a dev or a viewer, Patreon & Buy Me a Coffee are good ways to help me keep this channel going. Links below. I have giveaways, exclusive vids, preset packs, samples, field recordings, AUM sessions, etc., on my Patreon. The top Patreon tier even has lots of desktop plugin giveaways. You can get a warm glow from supporting me while getting nice things in return. Everyone who’s a member there thinks it is wonderful and that joining is a no-brainer. 🟡 Check it out at patreon.com/Gavinski One-off donations are also very gratefully received. Donations and Patreon memberships are really the only chance I have of getting compensated fairly for my work here, so I really appreciate donations. You can also book one to one consultations with me on Buy Me A Coffee: 🟡 www.buymeacoffee.com/953211370u 🟡 paypal.me/GavinskisTutorials Thank you once again to those wonderful people supporting my work, you are much appreciated!

Thanks! There aren’t that many app releases in this space that would merit this kind of vid with extra info about the history etc, so I thought, why the hell not!

Should I mention that sound doesn’t travel through empty space? And it’s kinda slow (through air at about 1100 ft/sec). Sorry. I know I’m being an idiot, but couldn’t help myself.

lol, true, but radio waves do travel through space, and relatively quickly. Unfortunately I can’t write an essay in the KZbin title due to word limits, so have to get the idea across simply 😛 📻
