Fun fact: Taskmaster once said there is only one fighting style he wish he never memorized. Moon Knight's. Because it is so insane. Moon Knight would rather take a punch than dodge it. His fighting style actually scared Taskmaster.

Sobek does have the crocodile head with a human body. Ammit is a creature with the head of a crocodile, forequarters of a lion, and hindquarters of a hippo - basically a chimera of the three most lethal animals in Egypt. Anubis is the god who should be the most upset with this latest scheme of Ammit. It is Anubis’ job to weigh the souls of the dead. Ammit is bypassing this and that should throw the entire pantheon into disorder.

@moonwalk1031
@moonwalk1031 2 жыл бұрын
It could also mean that Steven has been a long-time alternative personality that played only a minor role in Marc's life up until now. So Marc could easily promise Khonsu that Steven wouldn't interfere...but now Steven, being Khonsu's avatar like Marc has the power to take control of the body in a way he couldn't before. Thus, it's *possible* that Steven was around BEFORE Khonsu resurrected Marc. We'll just have to watch and see if some later episode tells us whether Steven is brand new or old and gotten stronger.

Regarding RA: Ra, the sun, is not the moon's natural nemesis in Egyptian theology. In fact, the moon was often linked to the sun (glowing as it did at night as the sun did during the day). And Khonsu was sometimes even as an aspect of Ra. Also, Ra, unlike Khonsu, is not a god of justice (Khonsu is the "defender of Ma'at"--Ma'at being truth, and so he defends the truthful and just). Ra is the god of rulers, and so is not in opposition to Khonsu. Ra's earthly avatar, by the way, was always the pharaoh. This, by the way, is the problem with any exploration into Egyptian mythology. Ancient Egypt lasted some 5000 years. And during that time it's mythology changed as well as acquiring and losing deities. Stories of the gods change dynasty to dynasty and place to place. It can get really confusing and is in no wise logical or consistent.

@@yamomspotatosalad818 Yes, storytellers can make stuff up even if their subject involves real people and real events, never find mythology or other fictions. They can say George Washington chopped down a cherry tree even though factually he never did. My objection isn't that the writers are playing with the mythology. My objection is that by ignoring the actual mythology the writers created something dull and predictable. If they'd read the actual mythology, which says "Sun and Moon are aspects of each other, not opposites..." they may have come up with something interesting for the Ra avatar. Something I'd never seen before and would love to read. Instead we get the old, old, old, very old: "Sun is opposite Moon therefore enemy..." 🙄🥱😴 Doesn't make me want to read the comic.

Dissociative Identity Disorder forms from repeated/prolonged *childhood* trauma. It does not develop in adulthood. However, once the brain has learned to split as a survival mechanism, it doesn't forget. Alters can split off (or, under certain circumstances, fuse together) later in life within a pre-existing DID system. As such, if the writers have been listening to the consulting specialist and doing their research, Marc/Steven's system has had DID since childhood, but Steven might still be new. Clues seem to point to having appeared (or at least taken over the role of host) a few months ago. Likely split off from Marc (as indicated by, among other things, sharing Layla's favorite poet and reflexively blurting out that he would never divorce her, as if he has vague memory fragments without context). It also seems from the first episode that Steven's role in the system may have something to do with protecting Marc from Khonshu and the violent lifestyle he pushes.

if i remember correctly, the thing about DID is how there isn't really an "original" alter. cus it's usually developed when a person is a child, and therefore hasn't really developed a personality yet. so how it's explained is that there is a host alter, which is the alter who is most in 'control', but that doesn't mean that that alter is the one that in neurotypical terms is the "original". but i think it's correct to state that marc is probably one of the earlier alters, while steven is a new one.

I would love a comic book series where it's just super heroes going to therapy. It might already be a thing. Is it a thing?
@BrokenNoah
@BrokenNoah 2 жыл бұрын
Doc Samson in the Marvel Universe is a practicing psychiatrist and have tried to help the Hulk over the years. He is also gamma irradiated. There was also the recent Heroes in Crisis mini-series over at DC exploring the mental struggles of superheroes. There was an indie comic (or maybe it was an Image title particularly?) about a psychiatrist whose clientele were superheroes. It has a more comedic slant though. I just can't remember a lot of the details. I think it was published back in the early 00s or late 90s.

@@kennystar27 Heroes in Crisis is what comes to mind then. It's not a regular series though and it assumes the reader has some knowledge about what's happening in the DCU at that point in time as well as who the characters are and what's their deal.

In the comics his hisyory has changed alot, but I believed the current continuity is that Marc was ALWAYS suffering from DPD from childhood trauma, and that Khonshu purposefully chose him because its easier to acclimate his different aspects on a "fractured mind".

Marketa said she doesnt see the similarities of Batman/Moon Knight. But I get it, because we are seeing the magical side of things. In the comics its not all magical mystical god stuff. The comics have a lot of VIgilante fighting normal bad guys and such on the streets. He also doesnt always display super soldier level of strength but lots of gadgets and weapons like Batman, though less high tech more murder hoboish

Steven might have been one of Marcs alternate identities for his clandestine work. When his personalities split the new part took over one of his former fake identities. What clearly speaks for Marc as the OG is, that Marc knows exactly what is going on, Marc knows aboute Steve, but not vice-versa.
