Moon Knight is one of my favorite MCU characters, I was around when he first debuted in the 80s and have all the books in his initial run. There are permutations that came along after the original, and they are incorporated into this. I think it makes for an even better story line. But I am commenting here because you liked how 'dark' MK is. There is a one off Marvel 'special presentation' that is only an hour long that is perfect for you two. Werewolf By Night (the B&W version) is something I expect you two would love, a great tribute to old Hollywood horror movies, but with a distinct Marvel flavor. It barely touches on the MCU, except to show that it is in it in a fleeting way, so it could be viewed at any time. Just a suggestion if you want a little diversion from the standard Marvel fare, it really is a treat in a very different way.

Gaspard Ulliel, the actor with the horses you liked who played Anton Mogart, passed away on January 2022 following a skiing accident. He seemed like a really great guy who worked tirelessly for philanthropic and environmental causes. I always feel sad when I see him in these scenes in 'Moon Knight'.

This show is extremely faithful to the comic. It is supposed to be dark, so your comparison makes sense. But I think that fans who haven’t read the books, and only know the movies and shows assume that DC is dark and Marvel is a counerpoint. That is extremely wrong. Both have light and dark characters. For instance, marvel is Blade, moon knight, werewolf by night, ghost rider, punisher, daredevil, jessica jones, and luke cage.
@stevenrice417411 ай бұрын
The reason that there are people who don’t like the snyder era dc movies is that those films chose to go dark with characters who were supposed to be light and hopeful.

One of my favorite aspects of "Moon Knight" is the soundtrack. Hesham Nazih did an outstanding job. The motifs he uses are just chef's kiss. The sountrack "Constellation" that played while Moon Knight and Khonshu turned back the night sky is so good, and it has some coptic chanting(as far as I'm concerned) . I really appreciate him for an attempt to "revive" the language.

Rob, Stonehenge is thought to be 500-1000 years older than the first pyramid of Egypt. The Ness of Brodgar, which has multiple structures, are older than Stonehenge, and Egyptian Pyramids. Those builds in Orkney are closer in age to the first mastabas of Egypt. Newgrange, in Ireland, is also older than Stonehenge, and the pyramids. Also, a more recent discovery is a roundel in the Czech Republic that is 7000 years old. Monuments in Europe were typically not as expansive or massive as what was found in places closer to the equator, probably in part due to lower population densities, but there are **tens of thousands** of megaliths all over Europe. Mesoamerican pyramids are thought to be younger than Egypt's pyramids, but have you taken a look at those? Oh, and back to Africa, there are so many megalithic monuments outside of Egypt. These megalithic sites are nearly all thought to be younger than the pyramids, but still amazing structures. I'm sure as archeology spreads and becomes more established globally, some pretty amazing things will yet be discovered.

As part of the mummification process they remove the brains and organs and place them in canopic jars. This helps to preserve the remains which are then wrapped in bandages and placed inside a sarcophagus. It is debatable whether or not the Great Pyramids were used as tombs. There was one chamber in the Great Pyramid which contained a stone box like structure but no human remains were found there. 😮

Was going to send some picture addresses of comic covers but remembered KZbin put me in time out for doing something similar. Basically first appearance Werewolf by Knight #38 - a simpler version of the costume - all white, no mummy wrappings. They did do the crescent moon cape. And it pretty much has stayed the same. The Mr. Knight costume (psycho Colonel Sanders) is spot on. But even in 2023 they didn't embrace the TV show version (because it's a PITA to draw all those lines,) - think that's a mistake because whoever designed the costume for the show took it to another level.

of the MCU TV series so far, I was surprised that some people arent too hot about Moon Knight. It's got a lot of good things going on. This has a really different tone that makes you wonder how it will expand and influence the greater MCU, the actions are cool and on point and Oscar Issacs really brings out all of his acting chops (episode 5 in particular). While I cant put moon knight over wandavision and both seasons of Loki, it is great and overall pretty satisfying.

Rob said MK felt a bit like like a DC show. A lot of that has to do with the competitive business of comics. They often have similar characters. DC has Flash, Marvel has Quicksilver. There's the Justice League and The Avengers. Similar to soda companies with let's say Sprite and 7Up. It's the same thing with a different name, lime soda. Unlike soda companies, DC and Marvel have had instances of crossovers. While they are rare and the two giants are mostly competitive, they have allowed shared universe stuff in the past. As for Moon Knight. You understand by now that Marc/Steven suffers from disassociative identity disorder (DID) or what used to be called multiple personalities. The thing to keep in mind is that MK was first introduced in 1979 and ran off and on for 30 years. This is the comic book world dealing with a heavy subject back in 1979. People who don't understand will very often belittle comic books as "children's stuff" But comic books have been dealing with some heavy subjects since the 60's. The Black Panther was born during the Civil Rights movement in America. Many of us comic book readers enjoy serious subject matter, but we also like action and fantasy. Combine the two and you have PB&J 😂
