The comment of the kid about being rejected to run through the fields of reeds is a subtle comment on marc's death and his first time connection with khonshu.. remember he was supposed to die when he was betrayed by his partner, killing both him and and layla's dad.. he was supposed to die but was robbed of death because of khonshu. That was also when he lost control of his split personality

The mental hospital is ON THE BOAT! So we know there is a scene with a very large boat and I think the mental hospital is in part of that boat because the lights were swaying back and forth and Marc was running down the hall falling left and right (just like on a boat in rough seas). Maybe the mental hospital is just a compartment of the boat and it’s like an arc, carrying all people who have died across the reeds to where they are going. Just a thought… but I think this explains the lights (and Marc) swaying best.

For narrative purposes, they have to keep Marc/Steven out of the MonnKnight suit at least until something strong enough to threaten him appears (likely Harrow as Ammit's avatar). If the writers hadn't taken away the suit at the end of episode 3, Marc/Steven could have just walked into the cave and destroyed Harrow's men.

This whole sequence is based on the beginning of Lemire's Moon Knight series. In that series, Marc's therapist was Dr. Emmit which turned out to be Ammit herself.

That ushabti is not Taweret. The figure has a frog head, not a hippo head, which means it's Heqet. Her husband is Khnum, the ram headed figure in the same shot from the credits and the wall. Here are the names of the gods in the credits and in the wall: Bes, Khnum, Sekhmet, Neith, Nekhbet, Khepri, Anubis, Wadjet, Heqet, and Khonshu who was added in the wall but missing from the credits shot.

@@AWolfieA They got out of line and were imprisoned (or put in time-out) by the Ennead for various "crimes". I use the term loosely because I'm pretty sure all of those imprisoned gods got that way because they stood up to the Ennead when they made the decision to leave humanity behind. The true gods, those who protected humanity and brought life and prosperity, fought against the Ennead but they were no match for the focused power of 4 or 5 gods.

@@nnodireginald6912 They were imprisoned one after another because they all fought back one at a time instead of together like the Ennead. Each time one of them tried to do something to drum up support or attention (which is something Khonsu did and was mentioned by Osiris in episode 3), they were punished/cast out. If they stepped out of line again, they were imprisoned. The true gods that were fighting to help humanity didn't want to hide and stand back, they fought and acted out and were locked away in a stone time out where they couldn't ruin the Ennead's plans of just turning a blind eye to Earth and hanging out in the Overvoid, sipping on margaritas or whatever.

Notice how Anubis is at the front at 1:54. Pretty explanatory as to why the trial was so fast and pointless. Anubis assisted in the judgement of the souls, which was an entire process where he would place the Feather of Truth on 1 scale and the judged's heart on the other scale. Now that he is gone, that's no longer possible.

The Kane Chronicles by Rick Riordan gives a really cool take on the Egyptian gods and a lot of the things Moon Knight references. Having read the trilogy first made me laugh every time I watched a scene about something I knew about. So much easier to follow Moon Knight.

I think it's the underworld. Osiris is technically in charge of it and I think he's trying to free his Devourer with Harrow. I think Anubis was turned into a statue so he wouldn't get in the way. Harrow is effectively replacing him, judging people with his scales before feeding the wicked to Ammit.

I think this underworld is his field of reeds and Tawaret is like a gatekeeper who can put his sole in hell, heaven or even back inside the body, judging the souls such as marc and steven, and they will be allowed to go back cause of Steven's pure soul.

judgment by osirus isn't the end of the soul's journey of the duat, and the field of reeds is more of a place to work (blissfully) for eternity. I see where you're going with it, but the duat is divided by hours as determined by Ra (as the sun) in his journey through the underworld. there aren't NEARLY enough snakes for it to be a duat metaphor lol
