I'm from Hull. I'm so proud of Ronno and the other Spiders. It's only in the last couple he's getting he's getting the recognition in Hull as one of GOAT's .

There's video from the Hammersmith Odeon that year from the Ziggy Stardust movie--is that the one you mean? There's a CD of the Santa Monica show from the same year but I too have never seen video from Santa Monica.

Yeah, Bowie/Ronson!! This will be fun to try. I actually had just been feeling a Bowie phase coming on in my listening. And I'll ponder "some Les Paul style songs" to request. (Your LP is still so shiny! Keep that fretboard clean!)

Yes, I'll be sure to keep it clean! Still at the stage where I'm babying this guitar a bit. Though thankfully a rosewood fingerboard doesn't show up dirt like the maple of my Tele.

Nice video as always. I believe part of Ronsons tone was him playing with a wah pedal just left in a position that sounded cool. I think the term is 'cocked wah'? Look forward to the next part

Yes, indeed all about the cocked wah. There's a great video somewhere on KZbin of the guy who now owns the famous Ronson Les Paul, his Marshall amp, and a few of his old pedals. Killer tone when he plugs in!

Great video Adrian. I was lucky enough to see Bowie with the Spiders from Mars live in 1972 and still have my vinyl copy of the album. Always loved this tune and now I can learn how to play It. Many thanks for this master class 😃

This particular song may get a little bit of a boost due to the black crowes covering it live and releasing an LP of song from 1972. Love Bowies stuff, I’m glad you did a video on this one

Great presentation. Thank you. I'm just getting in to Bowie after years of ignoring him. What a great songwriter. I'm going through his catalog in order and really enjoying the early stuff. I will have fun playing this song and digging further into Mick's playing. This has really reignited my guitar playing.
