I did not know that he played such a huge role in Iron Maiden when I was younger and that he wrote many of my fav songs. I think he was also away from the band for some time. Then when I went to see them live again when I was fifteen years old year 2000 for the Brave New World tour in Sweden I saw him again. That was the best live show I have ever been on.

I saw them live in the SSOTSS tour in 1988. Back then the set was 2,5 hours! I have never seen a band, even Maiden themselves which I have seen live quite a few times, attacking the crowd with such ferocity as they did opening that night with Moonchild. Never! I had the luck to meet mainly Bruce and Adrian in the promotion of Flight of Icarus. I was really surprised how the sweet talking Bruce discussing music and other Bands, was transformed to an onstage monster firing lyrics with the emphasis and showiness that few singers could do, like DIO did or Tate in Queensryche and Midnight in Crimson Glory. It was amazing...

Excellent job! I love the style they went for with this album, the guitar parts are so unique and interesting, and also very tough to pull off! I tried covering 7th son, but the second half with the solos and the crazy rhythm underneath it killed me haha

I had forgotten that cool guitar lead in the chorus of this song and this is one of my absolute fav albums. Now I really long for when I have my new electric guitar so I can play this :D I remember you advice me to maybe choose the PRS instead of the Jackson guitar because of the locking trem on the Jackson. What about the Fender player guitars ? Do they come with humbucker pickups and a tremolo without locking ? Maybe Fender player trem is not holding the tuning as good as PRS does. I know Fender player are good guitars for beginners though just like PRS SE models and will be nice to play some Iron Maiden on :)

@LicksOfTheBeast4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! On this one, I went with a JB Tb-4 in the bridge, a vintage hot stack in the neck and a classic stack in the middle. On the green one, I just changed the bridge for a Super Distorsion. Both are great... The green one sounds a little tighter while the white one is a little warmer.

This appears to have come out in between the time I was working on learning all of 7th Son(album) and now when I forgot I was doing that and now want to go back to it. Now i have this as reference for at least one song! That being said, I was trying to learn all daves stuff. iirc you usually focus on Adrian right? Looks like you might be jumping between them on this?
@LicksOfTheBeast2 жыл бұрын
I try as much as possible to focus on all three guitarists although I might have a preference for Adrian personally. 😊 On cover videos, I alternate the views to show the different parts so one time around I will show what Adrian is doing and the next time I might show Dave's part so that viewers can see how the different parts are played or get an idea of how they work together.

Wonderful stuff!! Please keep them coming. I've always wondered how guitarists go from tapping and then back to using the plectrum, now I know! Although in the Flight 666 version of it Dave taps with his index finger?
@LicksOfTheBeast4 жыл бұрын
That's right! He uses to do it with the middle finger but in the more recent love versions he plays the last few notes of that run as pull-offs without tapping so he can switch fingers for the pick grip. 😊 Just a questionuestion of preference, really... Glad you enjoyed this one. Thanks so much for watching!!

Is this Bias FX2 Plugin from the cloud? I've tried some 7th son plugins, but no one matched your sound.
@LicksOfTheBeast3 жыл бұрын
I think for this one I used a pedalboard from the cloud called Ultimate Maiden ad a base but then I made some tweaks to the settings. I used the same one for Only the good die Young actually. I don't go too crazy over sound settings for these videos but this one seems to work pretty well for this kind of sound.
