Got mine a few days ago and its so good, though I had to switch to new tips due to pressure buildup with stock large tips and medium tips not giving great seal without shoving it deep where the bullet type formfactor doesnt feel as nice to wear that way compared to regular iems. So now I have the new medium Tang Sancai Narrow Bores on it and now I got myself a budget etymotics lmao 😂

Watching this review while wearing Quarks 2 right now, everything sums up as I thought it would. It is a fun IEM overall, but it can sound a bit weird on some tracks, but hey, it's a 17-dollar IEM (RM70++ ish). What could go wrong? simple and easy for your everyday usage.

Both of them are budget IEMs so you can expect comparable build quality, but yes Quark 2 seems tougher

No, FC6 is not equipped with Class A amp. The only dongles that has Class A would be CEntrance DACport HD and Apogee Groove

Hi Andy, i was looking at your iem ranking as i was interested in the final audio a5000, but i am surprised its micro and macro details have better marks than blessing 3, so with the a5000 we have better micro details than b3 ? Thanks. For bullet type the best for me is of course Etymotic ER2XR, but that one is not really comfortable. Then there's Tanchjim ZERO of course

I have several bullet IEMs. The most comfortable in my collection are KBear Little Q and Final Audio E3000. The Little Q sounds fine for a cheap earphone, the E3000 has a rich sound with not enough treble. In terms of sound quality, my favourites are the Final E4000 and E5000, they are heavier with stiffer cables than the E3000 (more so the E5000), but they are still very comfortable. The E4000 has a neutral bass/midrange balance with good separation and layering , the treble is better than the E3000 but still lacks extension. E4000 is close in sound quality to the ER2XR in my opinion, I find the Etymotic is really bad for my ears if I walk around wearing them, so I rarely use them. The E5000 is a 'better E3000', more resolution and treble sparkle,, it is my favourite (for jazz music especially) but I don't think it is really worth the price increase over the E4000. I should also mention the KZ Linglong, it sounds great for the price, but I never use them because I like to wrap the cables over my ears, doing this cuts microphonics on all these earphones, however the Linglong cable is too stiff, you need to wear them with the cable hanging down.

@@totorokitano I think the E4000 would be fine for a treble-sensitive person. None of the Final E-series earphones have extended treble. The E4000 has a more dry tonality across the frequency range compared to the E5000. The E5000 has more sparkle in the treble, more richness in the midrange and weight in the bass, I think it is great for acoustic music and classic rock because it brings out the timbre of instruments. The E4000 is better at revealing the technical details of recordings like stereo effects and overdubs, bass does not bleed into the midrange (which can happen with the E5000), I prefer the E4000 with electronic music and modern pop and rock.

Hey Andy Good day. Did you try with HIBY R4 ? Does it work as just plug and play ? Do these feel like, made significant changes during EQ customization? especially with R4 !!

R4? no it is pointless to attach it to R4 or any other DAP because what Quark 2 will do, because it is permanently attached to a dongle, all audio processing will be done by Quark 2 dongle, no audio processing from DA to Analog from the DAP (which beats the purpose of a dedicated DAP). So any EQ or will not work in this instance. With DAPs, you look for normal IEMs with normal plugs

The reviews for original quarks mostly mentioned a bit harsh pinna gain and treble, so I never got it. Does quark 2 have any harshness in the upper frequencies?

Even with the original Quarks I don't hear any pinna glare in the upper mids, definitely not harsh at all, this Quark 2 is not harsh with the upper range as mentioned in this video
