I absolutely love mine. The first thing I noticed was how accurate the sound stage and imaging is. There are no dead zones in the sound stage. Also the stage is higher like above my head higher. The key as with any iem is fitting. Proper fitting is what sets up the soundstage for me. I love the variations. I recommend using a triple flange tip or the spinfit cp 155 tips. Edit: running IEMagni /modi 3+ stack and it's everything I need

Hi, i love my Variations too. But do you feel some lack of bass in low sector? Paired with shanling M6 21. Is something i didn't know, or the dap M6 21 is too bright for Variations. I mean Variations sound very pure and clear, but somehow i feel the bass sector is thin, and powerless. Please advice

@@Bluelovebird69 what about EQ?
@juanblanco78983 жыл бұрын
@@Bluelovebird69 there's a slight recession in the upper bass/lower midrange area and the mid bass indeed sounds dry and subdued, maybe even too much sometimes. In my experience, Symbio W eartips (without a foam insert) tend to boost that area of the spectrum somewhat, without impacting the sub bass (which I feel like wouldn't benefit from the further boost in the case of Variations). That would have been a possible solution, if not for a relatively small size of their inner bore.
@juanblanco78983 жыл бұрын
CP 155 reduce the sounstage width quite noticeably for me (although increase the depth slightly), with a bit warmer overall sound. It's a shame, since those are the best for me fit wise but the sound changes are not my cup of tea. Moondrop's stock tips for the Blessing 2/Variations have the best synergy with those IEMs, imo. Actually, I feel like they are largely responsible for those IEMs signature soundstaging/imaging. They seem to give a somewhat similar sound in this regard even with other earphones. Have you tried CP 500 by any chance?

@SuperReview3 жыл бұрын
Tuning: Starfield is warmer, fuller, and woolier in the bass, thicker midrange. Technically, I think you'll get a much stronger sense of detail with Variations, must stronger definition and separation between sounds, stronger imaging. Fit, Variations is much more secure fitting, but also much larger and more likely to be uncomfortable for some. Personally I much prefer the fit of Variations, Starfield is fine and inoffensive, but not very secure.

Better sound quality in every way, no worrying about pairing issues/latency, and wired earphones not coming with a built in expiration date are the main ones in my opinion. The downside is a lack of convenience, ie tangled cords, no mic for phone calls often times (although there are always to make that possible), no touch controls, no anc, that sort of thing. You definitely don’t need to spend that much for good sound though, no. It really just depends on what your priorities are.

@Maxx134a2 жыл бұрын
The less thicker mids on the variations (compared to many other IEMs) is actually more balanced and spacious. Way too many IEMs focused on mids. It had the tonality I wanted, and same resolution (actually a touch more defined although overall a few inches closer in soundstage ) as the 64 Audio U12T I had. So the more lively sound of the "variations" made me keep these over my U12T, and I was happy to keep these over them. What that means is the realization that this model does reach end-game level and too many are afraid to say so. Why do so many reviewers have such a hard time deciding IEMs l'll never know. Also, using money (cost as a factor) is an excuse for not picking the better unit. I certainly don't care as it irrelevant for knowing which is better... I'm thinking that in general, the lack of testosterone in society (thu garbage food) inhibits decision making...
@Maxx134a2 жыл бұрын
Too much focusing on the mids here, which are totally fine, just not thick or dark. The MORE expensive Vision EXT are WAY worse in mids, sounding like a "U" shaped signature (think fostex th900 sound!). Also, the stock Cable is actually very good, although I use a silver cable.

if talking about the vocal, dusk vocal more thinner than starfield?
@SuperReview3 жыл бұрын
Yes, I think so, but compared to Starfield the resolution and texture stands out more than the thinness. Starfield midbass is a bit wooly and IMO compresses the midrange, where Blessing / Dusk / Variations all sound much more open.

How these compare to the Oracle another tribrid in same price bracket?
@SuperReview3 жыл бұрын
Not sure, I haven't heard the Oracle, just Dunu EST 112. I'd say I like the Variations better than the 112, but I'd also say the same for Blessing 2.
@tanushverma22693 жыл бұрын
@@SuperReview no problem 👍🏻 however you should try getting your hands on Oracle, the best tuned tribrid according to many

Take 2: Hello Mark, First, I understand your preference of the moondrop's tuning, I-get-it, also your assessment that the T. Oxygen is bassy. Though there is no doubt of the cohesion, texture and slam that a (good) DD brings to the table. Second, this brings me to my search of a "better T. Oxygen" (tho I do love it) While browsing reviews I came across one for the Oriolus Isabellae iem, it's basically described as being mid-centric with flat mids, extended treble that approaches brightness and a good non bloated, textured and well controlled bass. @ $600 - $659 think this is the one, but I'll wait for a-couple more reviews b4 cinching the deal. And lastly, I only have two iems, the other (and 1st one) is the Meizu live (I brought 'bout 3yrs ago), I thought I got a good deal then and by recently (2 wks ago) watching your review on it kind of affirms that it's still a good deal and that I made an excellent choice. (I'm new to posting stuff, if I'm doing something wrong pls let me know)
