Are you serious Beethoven was hearing impaired? I don't get it everybody who plays piano starts playing songs they like and then they want to learn classical and this is who they go to first most of them.

Thank you so much for your easy to follow lessons... I grew up on organs not pianos so was taught this style of playing chords with left hand, bass with feet and melodies with the right... at 58 I have my first upright piano (a Feurich 2 crown concert) and just have parts 6 and 7 to go... I should just be polishing it up by next week... I'm so grateful for such a beautiful piece to play but hard to really play with the right sensitivity... what an incredible mind Beethoven had... the piano is truly infinite in its musicality and sadly these days not recognised by many as one of the world's most wonderful engineering creations in history, ever...

You are an excellent teacher. Your calm voice matches the calmness of the Moonlight Sonata! Thank you for breaking it down to chord shapes, I did that for Bach's Prelude in C as it helps. I started learning Moonlight on Monday. Four days later and it's going well. Still on the first eight measures, but I'm in no rush! Thank you! Caroline 🙏🏾🧡🙏🏾

Excellent tutorial. I was actually reading the sheet music wrong in some measures. All the accidentals and other odd notations confused me a bit. The visual here and playing chords first to learn the shapes was great. I also love breaking it into parts. Getting the feel right requires light LH octaves with heavier RH, BUT for only certain melody notes such as the G# ...dah, da-dah

For those of us less versatile, can you or anyone comment on the practical objections to using our safe friends Am or Em instead of C# minor, beyond the obvious heresy? As that goes, Dm may be an even easier simplification for we weenies, and it's only a half note away! Yes, I know that keys are not perfectly spaced, so a third in one key is necessarily perfectly the third in another, and every step you go off the original melody affect its distance from the upper and lower range of listening. Is it just that?

This was great! I was able to learn all the parts within 3 weeks. Thank you so much for putting this together and allow me to learn such a beautiful classical piece. I do have a quick question: the G-sharp 7th chord (just prior to the part where the melody switches from right hand to left hand), you played a regular G-sharp (not G-sharp 7th) in the final playthrough, was that intentional? (I thought it sounded better).
