For years I kept looking for Moonlighting on streaming. It was the one 80’s show I really wanted to watch again. Now it’s on Hulu. It’s even better than I remembered it. They, and the audience, deserved a happier ending.

Moonlighting was my 'all time favorite' show. Watching it today is just as much fun as it was years ago. The characters of David & Maddie as well as the rest of the actors were so funny but there were serious scenes too. They're sense of humor was brilliant, the music back them was my kinda taste & still is. I'll forever miss 'Moonlighting' but will watch it again & again......

First three seasons of Moonlighting was some of the best TV ever and definitely the best show of the 80's. The last two seasons fell off a cliff. The dialogue in the first two lines of this scene sum it up: Cybill: "I thought it'd be different" (ie. She thought David and Maddie would end up together and that she was sad the show was ending) Bruce: "I didn't think about it (He had zero fucks left to give and wanted the show over) This was his only line in this entire scene. Cybill did the talking.

To add insult to injury, this show was completely left forgotten by everyone and not alot of people seems to know about it even tho it was as successful as the other TV shows such as Miami Vice and among others back then, arguably Bruce Willis best performance was in Moonlighting (yeah I know he was great in other things like Die Hard movies and etc which I like them btw) and lastly Cybill Shepherd she is a great and nice lady that she deserves all the credits for her hard work in everything she is multi-talented star......infact this TV Series deserved better........thank you everyone for making this great TV show and it's personally one of my favorite TV shows next to The Sopranos and Miami Vice.

I agree. Bruce NEVER was as good as he was in Moonlighting. And I think it's because when he started Moonlighting, he was less acting and more just being himself. But once he did Die Hard and after Blind Date, I feel that lightness he had started to fade. By the mid 90s, most of it was gone. And by 2000, it seemed most movies were just a pay check for him. They should have done some continuation around 2010 or 2012, before his condition became so bad. I mostly liked the show because I liked Bruce and I always thought Curtis Armstrong seemed like such a sweetheart. And Moonlighting just made me love him more, he alone should have had a show:(. If you listen to the audio commentary, he and Allyce Beasley are still good friends and they seem MUCH more sad about the show no longer existing than Bruce or Cybill:(.

Thanks SO MUCH for posting this! I disagree with several of the commenters here, in that I thought this was a fabulous final episode. It included all of the aspects of the show that made it so good, like breaking the fourth wall, like mixing fantasy with reality, like referring to the show from WITHIN the show. The last episode was simply great... and sad as hell. Thanks again for taking the time and making the effort to post this for us! ~ ProvDog

D-Fens DogG ICAM! I think most of the problem complaining wanted some cheesy soap opera type ending with David and Maddie hooking up for a stereotypical happy ending. This was a show that imploded stereotypes and changed the whole landscape of what episodic network television could be. The ending these folks want was never gonna happen. I love that it actually stayed true to itself in the end after straying too far into soapy territory. The end was alternately sentimental yet still offbeat and ironic.

As much as I love Moonlighting, I really wish they'd have pulled the plug on the show immediately following the episode where Dave and Maddie hooked up. The eventual DiPesto/Viola heavy episodes, which were so abundant, were just painful to watch and the series finale was just a disgrace to something that was so carefully crafted in the beginning.

I love Agnes and Herbert. They are two of the nicest actors in real life and it's not their fault that both Cybill and Bruce sort of ruined their own show. The Casablanca episode alone is gold :)! And I also like their arc in Lunar Eclipse or Dos Di Pestos or the family reunion.

They should have revisited this with a short series of episodes or something similar, healed some of the hurts done in the last series or two and given it the final happy sunset it always aspired to in it's happy, funny, slightly twisted take on things. There was enough off the wall episodes to allow something like that to come in, clean up some of the mess they made in the last 2 series and leave it on a positive note. Maybe one day someone with some cgi can do it, shame there is health and time issues now, it could have been remarkable. Oh well, we still have the first 3 seasons.

Just watching Moonlighting from my DVD set - I thought I was getting back with my ex ? - Back when this great show was being aired on U.K. t.v. first time around - the girl I would have married Paula was a all 80's Woman Intelligent funny beautiful sexy - We were good - No great together ! - but instead of breathing down here nose like Maddie - When she had a problem Paula would pout her lips ! - she would scowl & pout ! - It made me love her even more - Then fate stepped in and like a gremlin spoiled it for us ! - I never missed an episode of to this great show - It was TV at its best ! - It was a serious TV detective show done tongue in cheek it broke all the rules - and as the viewer you never really knew what treat you was in for ! - Then as Willis moved up on his acting career ladder - script writers strike & Sybils babies ? All came at once the show could not survive ! It was one of 4 shows I never missed Moonlighting 80's - Cheers 80's - Now & Again ! 90's & a great Canadian show Due South 90's As a foot note I do't think Willis would do a reunion - we all know it was Moonlighting that set him on his hollywood stardom career - But from what you read about him now he would want too much $$$ to appear ?

S5 was basically a copout and the finale was actually a big disappointment to top it all off. The montage is lost and it's true you could look @ the series as a metaphor for the life of a relationship from the meeting, working together, fighting, the buildup of the sexual tension and courtship, then the aftermath w/the pregnancy and all. But it kind of feels like from the whole walter bishop storyline onward that things dropped off, w/the exception of the end of S4, when they seem to get....

@breaks0 together again. The premier of S5 had an interesting premise and I can get that she'd have a miscarriage, but it seems contrived. To take all that time to build up the relationship the 1st 4 years and just tear it down like that. The elevator scene in Ep2 sort've makes up for it, but it's more of an attempt to close the door on the past. What bugs me most (besides the Annie storyline) is the way the ending is so rushed. If they'd hanled it right, it wouldn't needed to feel so contrived.
