My spouse is British and I lived there for a decade I can assure we don’t eat potato chips for breakfast, we don’t eat food off the floor, we don’t share towels, we don’t wear shoes indoors, I shower in the morning my British spouse showers at night. So this generalization is quite incorrect

Correct haha. I think it is a misunderstanding from not being here long enough and mixing with enough English people 😂

Is it possible that you’re the exception to the rule? British people have poor sense of hygiene in general, while you and your spouse are the few exceptions
Should you rinse dishes after hand-washing with soap-detergent? Quote ~ Do this test. Wash your hands with soap, then do not rinse them. Wait until they are dry, then lick your fingers. If they taste good you don't need to rinse neither your hands nor the dishes anymore😜 ~ Yes, it is generally recommended to rinse dishes after washing them with soap. Rinsing helps remove any soap residue that can affect the taste of food and not safe for consumption. Additionally, rinsing ensures that any remaining food particles and grease are washed away, leaving your dishes clean and hygienic. ~ Do you rinse the shampoo out of your hair or just let that dry also ? ~ You don't want the suds to dry onto the dishes and then your food or drink get mixed up in it. Like a glass with dried detergent and you fill it up with ice water....*you're drinking the dish detergent(GAG)* RINSE YOUR DISHES!! :D ~ Detergents are nothing but chemicals😮stronger than any soap. It “digest” grease. Eating food on dishes with dried chemical is harmful especially for kids. It’s just common sense to rinse. Rounding under a weak column of (tho I see better result with the shower function, it saves water more so than the non-shower function. Shower function is more efficient, saves water.

Momma: Uk is v diverse. U hv been using the experience of 1 English family, or even say 5 English families to assign it as a National phenomenon. 一竹篙打一船人. That’s stereotyping, a characteristic of racial profiling which is a term used within Racism. Not wise.
Less humid in UK so I take shower in the morning. Do you clean your carpet every day yourself or does your maid did it? House is bigger than an apartment. A lot of this is not true. We don’t share towels, we don’t put towels on the floor, we rinse our dishes, we eat vegetables daily, meat is wrapped not left in the open in humid weather so we don’t wash the meat, we don’t pick up food from the floor
I am a British born chinese and I don't know anyone who do not shower or bath daily. We don't eat foods from the floor and have potatoes chips for breakfasts. We do wear slippers and not outdoor shoes indoor, except whenever we entertaining guests. It is impolite to expect your guest to remove their shoes. You are born in the hot far East but we have sub zero temperature in British so there is no comparison. Some might not wash thier meat but that is because we use Pre-wash and Pre-pack meat products which have minimal exposure to humid air so it's quite clean. Also vegetables and fruits are a very important daily diet to us too. There might be people do things as you said but it's only a small minorities, it does not project the true British. Your generalization is not correct.
When you are new to a country you tend to notice things that are different from what you are used to, then assume it’s true for most people in the new country
