I've been more jazzed for this one than most of the big releases in 2022. I'm a sucker for the growing "Soulsvania" sub-genre thanks to games like Salt & Sanctuary and Death's Gambit. I really hope this one lives up to those titles.

I am a metroidvania guy who kinda not like "souls like games" and I was getting frustrated when they classify a "souls like game" as metroidvania, so I glad to know that you guys are using the soulsvania term.

Ive been playing it for two hours now, and, for now, it's an excellent game. The aesthetics are wonderful, the lore promises a lot, the combat is great and the difficulty (yes, for now) is very very fair and very very fun. I loved it, with the only exception that the dialogues are generally quite mediocre. I hope the game stays at this level until the end and doesn't fall into monotony

The backgrounds look gorgeous in a lot of places, but the foreground is just a boring bland mess in every second of footage shown here. It may be just how dark it is, I don’t think the red/grey color palate is doing them any favors there. I wonder how this looks with the brightness turned WAY up.

This game for me is so cool. When I started I loved it. I play it every day for 1 hour. The challenge is manageable and it's fun. The game does feel slow at the end. The map gets very confusing and after a certain boss fight, there is no indication of what to do or where to go. Then, there are the glitches. There were times I felt a delay which cased my death. Doors not opening when they were supposed to and the game feels very inconsistent when it comes to enemies dealing damage to you. Other than that the game is really good and I agree with an 8 out of 10

I'm too old for these types of games. I used to love these types when I was younger but now, I just want to play, have fun and not get frustrated while playing as my reaction time isn't as fast as when I was younger. Still, I'll be buying this game for when I want to throw my controllers.

Anytime you create a new checkpoint for yourself it puts an evil doppelganger that you have to fight to get your special weapon back. One of the more crappy things about this game

This game was a lot of fun to play. I dig the vibe, it's like dark souls, hollow knight, and dead cells mix all together. The art design is excellent and the story is interesting to follow. Now, unfortunately, I run into a game-breaking glitch that would make me get stuck when talking to an NPC with no dialogue box popping up. I hope they patch this soon or people would simply leave this game because of this type of bug.

Does this game’s combat feel smoother than Blasphemous’? I’m not a fan of that game’s gameplay at all, though its art direction is phenomenal. I love Death’s Gambit and Salt & Sanctuary, but the comparisons to Blasphemous in the comments are not winning me over. This game is currently on sale on PSN, so is Souldiers, Aeterna Noctis, Lost Ruin, Ghost Song and many other metroidvanias/action platformers. I’m having a hard time making a decision lol.

FWIW, I completed the game today and did the final boss first try with no problems. So the bug is not a guaranteed thing it seems.

Did you finish it? Devs announced today that there's a "critical bug" some may encounted towards the end of the game and I'm on edge with it.. Think I'll wait till it's patched out.

Played demo and played final version, didnt like it at all. Aesthetics are monotonous, dull and ugly, game has no proper feedback on being hit, and combat is just dodge fest. I didnt enjoy any moment i played it. Refunded.
