I got pulled yesterday for exact same thing 1/2 mile from the house, no tag, no insurance, title had been signed over to me 2 years ago but I’ve been working on it ever since and haven’t had it on the road so I just haven’t been in a hurry to get the paperwork side done yet and so the deputy walked up and went through the usual BS but was very professional and nice and I told her that I was just running it down the road to check if it was gonna run or not and take it back home, handed her my license & the title , she asked me if I had a clean record or if she was gonna find any warrants and I told her I’m bout as clean as you guys will ever find these days and she came back after 15 minutes and I figured she was gonna have me impounded and all and she came back and said, did you know your license is been suspended since last June for a failure to appear? I had no clue!! In December 2022, I had an 89 year old woman pull out in front of me in Moore County NC after someone had shot up the Duke Energy substation and the entire county was dead, including all traffic lights. Grandma was pulling out of a side street from her development and I was coming down the main, 4 lain divided Highway that runs straight through town and it was the last traffic signal in town and it was the only one in town not marked with city trucks with strobe lights to let us know there was a signal ahead. I had never been through this town before and I was 90 miles from being home cause I had flown to Florida and bought a 40’ MCI Custom Coach conversion and I had already covered 600 miles and thought I’d be home in a couple more hours and was so ready to just be home and relax but grandma threw a monkey wrench in the mix by saying she did not see me and pulled out in front of me and I attempted to avoid her but she made sure I didn’t, lol, and she bounced off my front right corner after I hit her left front tire and she spun around and hit a car in the opposing two lanes that had two FBI Agents in it that were in town investigating the potential terrorist activity, lol 😂. Anyhows, I got cited for failure to avoid a collision and I had no tag on the coach yet cause I just bought it and I wanted to wait till I was back in NC to do that but I did have the sense to call and insure the thing and that was the best $125 I ever spent in my life!! Progressive Insurance did a remarkable job taking care of the damage even tho I was not happy that they did it because it should not have been all on me but I digress! The insurance company was waiting on final hospital bills and all to come in before they made the final settlements and the court date was approaching and I called the Moore County DA and they gave me a continuance with a new court date for 4 months later and said that if the insurance company settles prior to court that they would toss my charges, which they in fact did, but somehow suspended me then for failure to appear which is complete BS!! Anyhows folks, I’m sorry I got long winded here but they deputy was fantastic and only wrote me for driving on a suspended license and told me to contact the court to get it all resolved and get my license reinstated which I’m do for a renewal this summer anyways so it’s not all bad. Deputies have the discretion to work with us the way mine did but some want to let their ego’s get in the way like Thomas’s deputy did here! Within 15 seconds of him being on site he made the statement “it’s getting towed”! Thomas could not have been anymore cooperative than he was and completely honest about it all and that deputy could have allowed him to drive the 1/4 mile back to the shop. If the Black deputy been the primary cop, I feel like he would have allowed it. My case, the deputy allowed me to turn around and drive the mile or less back home with a suspended license, no tag, no insurance, etc. but I’m rural like Thomas is and it wasn’t gonna hurt a thing. My recent accident hitting grandma was my first accident in 58 years and driving for 44 of those years now. I’m not trying to get away with things or cause trouble, but there’s bigger issues out here we need to deal with besides what Thomas did!! Yes, he did break rules, but did not endanger anyone and is a better, safer driver than 99% of the licensed drivers out there, including Deputy Ego that had him towed!! Come on Doofus, let’s work together here on things and we’ll accomplish better things together man!! And some of these guys wonder why nobody respects them anymore. There’s a time to strut your power and authority and there’s a time to just write a ticket and turn the other way!! Great job Thomas, I’m proud of ya for maintaining your composure and being the better one in the situation that ultimately had a decent outcome by getting the truck dropped at the shop but it’s still a fee that takes away from buying another Kracken shirt or two and supporting little Hailey and her upcoming surgery!! What you did to support Kracken and his fam got you a new sub from me!! I want to supply guys like you who want to support your competitors also. I’m really proud of you brother and can’t wait to support you now!! Be safe out there

One time I was looking at buying an MR2 and was test driving it on farm roads just like this and they got me the same way. Owner didn't have insurance, registration or inspection. Going be 42 this month got lupus heart problems and other stuff wrong so i had to stop working at 25. Back then i had a 87 iroc z28 with a true 69 dz 302 in her. Posi rear end with a eaton unit i put in a 350 turbo trans with a shift kit took out the 700r. 6in cowl hood painted the car 96 viper blue with silver stipes. She sounded good ran good was quick for what it was. It was stolen a few months before my health went down. I did not have full covrage so was a total loss. And i then lived in a small country town with very low crime. I also had a 77 chevy blazer full size 4x4 with the factory 400 in it 400 turbo trans i put new quarters rockers and fenders on it. Only had 48k miles was a old farm truck. I put a mint interior out of a newer mid 80.s full size blazer in it had a good sound to it full stainless dual exhaust. Then i had a 78 reagle 3.8 turbo car was all original mint body beautiful interior for a 3.8 v6 had a factory 4 barrel carb on it was wild. I was the second owner to it first was my friends grandmas car she got new back in 78. Car sat in a garage 10 years before i got it so did not run could smell mice inside the car i never got a chance to go thro it before i got sick. After i got sick i could not work was fighting to get disability and had bills 2 kids then and had to sell my blazer my buick and a few motors i had put back. One rare 454 block a 1970 ls 454 out of a chevelle no original heads but stock bore and was in great shape. Just so much odds and ends i had built up since i was 14. I loved cars as a kid use to help dad in his garage learned a lot from him. I cut grass did everything i could when young to buy what i had. I come from a poor family and was given nothing. Long story short Gods good im still here still with my wife we got to teen kids left at home others grown and gone. I have a old 2000 silverado 4x4 truck i keep up on best i can runs good but needs odds n ends. Every summer i see nice cars and trucks out and want one so bad! I miss working so i could have cash to buy and build cars miss my old cars. Im all the time on marketplace day dreaming or youtube. If i could my dream car is a 77 to 78 trans am t top black and gold not because the bandit show but because when i was young my dad had one i loved them since. Or id love to have a 53 chevy pickup truck short bed red dad had a beautiful one when i was little i helped him work on when i was 5 until like 8 years old. Told me was going be mine some day but him and my mom split he was forced to sell it. Back in 1991. I looked since for that truck and just found it last year old ppl had it and it was all the same as when dad had it same motor trans wheels everything. I told my brother about i found it they was not wanting to sell but sed since are dad built it they would for 35k. My brother bought it i ask to drive it he will not let me or nobody and i drive better than him. He is a stingy person a show off loves to play big for ppl. Hurts bad have a brother and him be like that to me knowing i helped my dad with it not him and it was going to be mine. I could never be that way to anyone let alone my brother. But other cars i like to have is a 87 iroc z all factory 5.7 t.p.i black with gold wheels or a 69- 72 nova ss love them cars a lot. Also love to have a 69- 87 chevy step side 2wd short bed truck with a built motor. Again all just dreams if i had one i would go to car shows and fund raiser car shows for study on lupus cancer so on. And for vets we lost when in service. I did have a son with a woman long ago when me and my wife split for 2 years he is 14. His mom was in the army with just 2 weeks left and she was killed back in 2020. He loves cars also if i had something nice we could enjoy it together go to shows together i could teach him more about cars. Now its summer i see and hear so many nice cars i love it but also hurts to want something so bad to enjoy and leave my boy when God calls me home. But again im Blessed to just be here have my wife and kids. I got a old single car garage my dream is to have something nice in it. I would never sell it if i had one. I drive back roads all the time have for years now praying i could find a nice old car or barn find that i could find a way to get with no luck. First off, never, ever, ever...hit the transbrake button while up on jackstands. It will take that sprag out every single time. It needs the weight of the vehicle or a load on it to work. The full weight of the vehicle. Steve Morris learned that valuable lesson also, yes of Steve Morris Engine fame, in his fast Wagon. Second, of course they have a hard on for you, that is their job. If I tried it, my vehicle would be crushed or auction fodder. Mine races only at the track for a reason. You got real lucky Thomas that they only wrote the no ins ticket and the impound. I hope he dropped it off at the shop, but I doubt that happened. Arguing w/ the man when it was arrestable was crazy. The first "I did all that" was a good start, but equally as dangerous. Not everyone gets away with street racing, testing, etc. everytime. And the chances some take these days as they are cracking down everywhere, is the craziest schidt in the world. But, it sure makes good content! Good luck boys!
