hey connor! those circle marks on the inside of the fairing is call flash, it's when the plastic gets injected into the mold that makes your part (fairing) the circle mark you see is the ejector pin that pushes the part off of the molding face. there can be various reasons as to why those marks are there. ride safe and keeo up the vids

ya i wanted to give up and return it, but then I was pretty certain someone else was going to have the same trouble. In the end it looks great on the bike and if you know what you have to get to make it work it won't be as bad. But it was one obstacle over another that was so frustrating. And the fact that they don't have any general guidelines or instructions how it works other than "it does we know it does cuz one of our guys did it" and "its in the works" lol Thanks for watching! Much appreciated!!

Samuel Cabe hey Samuel! Thanks for watching!! Very much appreciated! Thanks! I def love the look of it! It was just getting to the final result was def a bit of a journey lol Glad you found the video helpful! Did you end up going with a moons 1/4 fairing or HD one? I'm still curious how those moons brackets work lol But I do like the quick detach applicability with the quick release brackets from Harley Cheers!!!
@samuelcabe33727 жыл бұрын
ConnorFXDB I'm probably going to go with the HD detachable. Just because the main thing drawing me to the Moons was the cheaper price for what I though to be a similar quality product. But now after hearing all the cost you incurred, do you think you EVEN came out cheaper going with the Moons, or no?

does the fairing need to flex alot when you put it on with the HD quick relase clamps? I'm in the process of fitting the same setup and it seems with the angle of he mounting brackets that it has to bend quite a bit to mount like you have to force it on I'm afraid its gonna break in half lol
@ConnorFXDB6 жыл бұрын
it should not! I would attempt to get different brackets. which brackets do you have? the circle ones from moons or the bungking style brackets? It should be a plug and play type install -- you should only have to line up the holes insert the bolts and wham!

Looks good though bro. Hey how do you like the laminar lip? Does it really work good? And does the velcro really stay? I have a gauntlet quarter fairing. And looking for less wind buffering. Hit me back?
@ConnorFXDB4 жыл бұрын
Shawn Cox Evenin Shawn! I was a little hesitant on the Velcro but it did keep the laminar lip on fairly securely! I was really surprised. A couple months later I switched to the Road Warrior Fairing from MEMPHIS SHADES and been running that since. I’m at roughly 50,000 miles with the road warrior fairing (30 on my dyna and then swapped it over to my new Softail lowrider and I’m already at 20,000 on that)

hey man , getting that fairing on it's a pain in the ass....i have a hd quarter fairing and i've tried everything fron bungking to hd and homemade clamps , same result --a gap from the headlight to the rubber groumet of the fairing... the last and best solution was a Rebuffini quarter fairing mount , that thing is straight on , comes with everything from headlight bracket to bolts ...
@ConnorFXDB8 жыл бұрын
gabymusk never heard of em! Def gonna have to check em out! Ya there's a headlight mount/spacer from a couple companies but they're each like $40-60 and this gets the job done. May not be the prettiest but it does its job lol Thanks for watching!!

thanks brutha! She def is coming along nicely! I always think I'm done but sure enough something else catches my eye lol. Next on the list Im thinking is (finally) chain conversion kit and switch to racingbros 14" shocks. Dang! Thats $$$$$ Why 500? Aren't they 399? I mean the harley 1/4 fairing plus the 49mm clamps I can see it cuz 140 for the clamps + 399 for the fairing but are they charging 500 for just the fairing kit?? Its pretty easy to install the shield you could def do it! Theres a video on here doing step by step of putting it together and then the clamps just install like listed in this video and boom!

Damn bro! i was really looking for a good quarter fairing, it sucks that we can't use the harley one!! I got so excited when i saw you got one ahhh!! Guess i gotta keep looking ahahah!!!
@ConnorFXDB8 жыл бұрын
You can! Ive heard HD dealers tell me yes you can and other that you can't. The reason they say you can't is because the HD kit comes with 39mm clamps and i believe 2006+ dynas come with 49mm clamps. (correct me if Im wrong on the date) all you would need is to order the fairing from harley and order the 49mm QR clamps with it but you would be spending an extra $140 and have an extra set of 39mm clamps to stow away. All in all, the moonsmc with harley quick release clamps I was at $398 which is shy of harley $399 (before taxes) for theirs. As for the quality of the fairing from MOONSMC, I would say its 6/10 mainly because of the tiny details on the grommets being torn before I even put it on and the ease of scratches on the plastic glass portions. And of course the lack of instructions with their fork clamps lol. Thanks for watching! let me know if you have any questions
@tankman5528 жыл бұрын
Oh see my harley dealer keeps telling me it won't fit! But you're absolutely right with 49mm QR clamps it'll work like a charm. Thanks brutha, I'm gonna buy the harley i think and shell out a few more bucks for the QR clamps. Another great and helpful vid. keep em coming!!! safe riding!
@ConnorFXDB8 жыл бұрын
Isaac Tamulonis-Grant ya one of the dealers here told me on the phone that it wouldn't fit. I ended up going there to shop around for christmas presents and decided to ask in person and then they told me it would lolol so i looked on forums etc and that was why they said it wouldn't. Plus that its "made for sportsters" and on HD.com the fitment doesn't show dynas but I know several people rocking them on theirs with the 49mm clamps. Best of luck! And wise choice! The finish in the end is a little cleaner and Im sure the glass/plastic covers won't scratch as easy.

Moonsmc guys told me I could use my top brow headlight set up with this fairing is that true?
@ConnorFXDB4 жыл бұрын
Im not too sure! That would be more their expertise since they stated it. My headlight is bottom mounted so I dont have any issues and can see a brow mounted headlight working but again I cant speak for certain. My apologies for the tardy reply
@jazzzyj75897 жыл бұрын
The light doesnt fit right because the quarter fairing is designed to work with a top mount light not the bottom (even if they dont tell you that), so ya you gotta kinda make it work with what you got. Its gonna get dirty as fuck inside the light housing unless you make a seal up against your headlight with the rubber gasket on the headlight bucket on the rear of the fairing....the HD one is the same. The bolts that come with the HD QR clamps are button/domed head allens so the give you a little more clearance and you can come at them at a diff angle to tighten them. FYI, your fairing brackets are adjustable as well since they are 2 piece by the 4 little 1/4 nuts and may be able to get you a better fit on your light. ps...dont ghetto rig your shit like TD, you did it right with the QR clamps, same way I got mine, even tho HD rapes you on them!
@ConnorFXDB7 жыл бұрын
JazzzMee 2 badass! Huge thanks for the feedback! And thanks for the support! Ya man the inside does get pretty dirty lol I went ghetto with the light mount with some spacers and I'll get the light block down the line.

ROMAN EMPIRE yes, I have th same issue but since no one would really notice it I kinda just left it lol Bungking and a couple other company's (conelys USA) do also. You would need the headlight block to where it'll push it out to where it needs to be to not have that gap Thanks for watching!!

Great job bro, I have to agree the quality is poor on the inside of the fairing. The HD fairing even though it cost more is the way to go for that style of fairing. Sometimes you get what you pay for .
