Today Rob and Sharon are unboxing the escences of feldspar! From moonstone and adularescence to sunstone's aventurescence, they will go over the optical phenomena that make these feldspars so incredible. If you've ever wondered why labradorite flashes all of those beautiful colors like the back of a cd or what the difference is between moonstone and rainbow moonstone, then this video is for you! Make sure you stay tuned until the end for an extra special announcement!
To enter for a chance to win the orthoclase specimen from our internal collection, send us an email with your name and address at info@gemstones.com. Put the word “Feldspar” in the subject line. We will be accepting entries until April 4th 2024, and the winner will be chosen at random. Unfortunately this is open to US residents only. For the full terms and conditions go to www.jtv.com/giveawayrules. If you don’t win this one, no worries! You have many more chances to win! Watch JTV from 6pm to 2am Eastern. They will be giving away a new specimen every hour to people who call in.

Spectrolite is like labradorite on steroids and/or magic mushrooms. I shall have some in my collection one day. I have a soft spot for Oregon Sunstone because a friend of mine who lives in Oregon does some seriously beautiful work with Sunstone. The copper inclusions & schiller effect & the colors in Oregon Sunstone are just so warm. Like a bear hug for your eyes.

I love Moonstone and Labradorite! They're special. I watched the video till the end and was bummed that the contest is only open to US residents... But I still love your channel and I love gemstone so it s natural that this is my favourite channel. Sending lots of love to the team. Warm regards from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

I thought the inclusions in sunstone were copper, not hematite.

Thanks for the info about labradorite! It's always been an interesting stone, but I never gave it much thought until being gifted a specimen that could be a twin to the large slab you displayed. Seeing your appreciation has shed new light on this beautiful rock for me!

Happy Easter team 🐰 🪺 🎉 These are by far my favourite type of rocks to gaze into. However. not being able to enter the competition or buy off JTV because they don't ship overseas is not great. It's 2024. Let's catch up and include the rest of the world in to Gemstone's heart and give us all a go. Please 🙏 😅❤

Some fantastic rocks. The faceted moonstone are very nice. The one thing with collecting this type of material, you can get a big lump of a specimen for a relatively good price (comparatively) great video 2x👍

Would love to see spectrolite in comparison to regular labradorite and a comparison between darker labradorite versus the lighter stoned labradorite often called rainbow moonstone.

That pink moonstone reminds me of Pikes Peak granite. It's known for its characteristic pink feldspar. I wonder if any of the pieces I've handled were secretly moonstones?

The sunstone is cabochon awesome. It looks a lot like Natronite/Natrolite. The labradorite is also spectacular and reminds me of when I was viewing stone surfaces for kitchen and bathrooms and one particular retailer had gigantic slabs of labradorite with fancy lighting which clearly showed the magic of God's handiwork, at unGodly prices. I bought something else, elsewhere. 😲(Question: which is the most valuable/rarest color to reflect from within Labradorite?)

Okay so the coincidences continue to happen with this channel and what I come across. Just got a little lot of moonstone from Asia that looks like your material there. It’s one of those materials I never thought I loved until I saw some good quality stuff in person.

Sunstone's primary Phenomenon is Aventurescence. Why is that NOT mentioned?! In Sunstone Labradorite Feldspar, the platelets are made of Copper. In Sunstone Orthoclase Feldspar, the inclusions are mostly Hematite.

Labradorite was named after the city, Labrador, in Canada for which it was first found. Your teacher just wants to be different. It IS pronounced like the dog, and city pronunciation. ❤

Who is the camera person for the "closer looks"? They are not the best at it. Every time i am expecting a nice slow zoom ,maybe a macro shot or two, to really show off the pieces. Each time, I'm just disappointed with shots that my grandson could take by accident while playing with my phone camera.

Hi folks! After watching your video, I saw this one on sunstones. kzbin.info/www/bejne/l3ndYYlnbZuBi7M Are there other metals that don't want to be in a crystal, like the copper/sunstone? And why would that be? Copper works on turquoise and other things- so I ask people who know things: How does it work?
