You make it look so fluid. On my 2nd attempt I fell straight onto my coccyx bone. Lets say I was out for a whole week sitting and sleeping on my side. Love you videos!
@DimSumChum11 жыл бұрын
1) Practise aggressive toe edge turns (stops essentially) and get very low to the slope, this will help keeping you balanced over your edge 2) Next try continuing the aggressive turn up so you ride back up the slope. (The board will not be perpendicular to the fall line). This helps prevent you from loosing your speed, but keeps your board loose and washy. (Watch the board as he is mid turn) 3) As you complete the turn make sure to counter-rotate your body mid turn Source: I'm an instructor

I've got to say, that's seriously impressive stuff right there, Ryan. Smooth as silk and inspiring to watch. You look like you're having a great time out there and it makes me want to get back on my board. Definitely going to check out the rest of your vids now. Clearly I need to push my highbacks a few notches to help with that edge stability on the butters but I'm already riding +15/-12. My board is a playful little thing (a 2011 Salomon Acid 155) paired up with a set of Union Contract bindings - a lightweight and springy setup to help me overcome some mobility issues I have. Watching you here is certainly spurring me to improve this year and have more fun on the hill. Thanks for sharing!
@RyanKnapton11 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Stoked to inspire and I hope ya have as much fun with some of the butters as I do! :)

Can't imagine how hard you would smack on the ground catching an edge while buttering so aggresively with that speed.
@RyanKnapton11 жыл бұрын
Has happened more than a handful of times. Luckily the worst repercussions from it were either wind knocked out of me, or whiplash in the neck and gut... which all in all, pretty darn good compared to some of the snowboarding injuries that happen. :)

being aggressive is the reason hes not falling most the time,speed keeps you balanced and no hesitation keeps you from falling.Most the time at least lol

Dude. I love these vids. Been working on my carving technique all season so far. I used your vids to just tweak my style slightly and I'm well happy. Only slight problem is I find that in between my heel and toe carve i Bob up and down. I seem to be taller on my toe carve and then get lower on my heel. Is this natural? Any tips mate?
@RyanKnapton10 жыл бұрын
Without actually seeing the carves I cant say much, but maybe try keeping the knees bent more all the way through instead of standing more upright in between turns?.. If you end up with some decently shot vid of you carving I'll check it out. Either way, keep working on it and happy shreddin!

Thanks dude. Going again in 2 weeks so I'll get the misses to film a run.
