Some sort of step in, is a must for midwest 3 & 500 vertical ft. "Resorts" Since you're in the lift line every 2 minutes ... I wish that was an exaggeration. But, also... If you want performance all good stuff has been discontinued.

50 year old dude who grew up surfing, moved inland in 2005, and never stopped long board downhill riding since 1995 and is riding through my first winter in eastern Washington on the mountain. I don't have a lot to give towards progression because I'm banged the f up (hip replacement, fused vertebrae in my neck), but I can still progress with my rail work. Much love from Spokane. And thanks for the inspiration ❤️

I know this is an old video but it was my first time boarding at my local mountain this season and I only lasted 2 hours. While I just took it easy and focused on drills, the last two runs I charged it and it felt amazing. I don't feel too bad leaving early as I have a season pass. Feels good to leave the slopes with some energy to spare

Aside from how hilarious he looks while doing this... I find it bizarre that snowboarders don't have poles at all times. I might actually start doing this, unironically. Getting stuck a single time on flat ground on a snowboard was enough for me to never want to experience that shit ever again. Walking in deep snow, with hot snow gear on, for over a mile is absolutely fucking horrendous. Yeah you can always keep your board waxed, yeah you can plan your route better, but getting stuck on a flat is still a possibility and god damn does it fucking suck.

Ryan, I'm 100% going to do this! I might need to pick up a wider board (26cm is the widest I have) but I ride duck, am a level 2 instructor in Europe, love to carve, and I'm going to get some riding footage together for you this week!

I'm not certain quite yet, but that will be finalized soon. There will be a couple lodging options, that will cost slightly different amounts. The organizers of this will have all the details soon. For dates, it's gonna be starting on July 27th, and go into August.

I think he has the same problem as me on heelside carves (I'm also +/+): he shifts his hips towards the nose leaving him with an uneven edge pressure/weight distribution between front and back foot (too much weight in the front). In my case, my front quad and butt cheek muscle is burning, while the back leg and its butt cheek muscle is unloaded. How to correct this? Even if I really try hard and conscious to shift my hip towards the tail and shift my weight onto the back foot, it just doesn't work, Imy whole body position and hip feels stuck and the longer into the turn the worse it gets (more weight on front foot and body position even more stuck and blocked). This might work on slopes like this i.e. mellow, wide turns, little speed, however if going faster, steeper slopes, tighter turns, more edge angle and butt closer to the snow then it will likely start to chatter and lose the edge due to this uneven edge pressure. Interestingly enough, on toeside (whether in a carved turn or just riding straight doesn't matter as long as the board is on its toeside edge) I have no problem shifting my hip around and back, there's all the freedom of movement, nothing is blocking/no feeling stuck, and I am also able to consciously shift my weight gradually from front (when initiating the turn) to back (when ending the turn) during the turn.

A triple strap binding might not be a bad idea to be perfectly honest. Would prevent boots from folding in on themself.

Hey man, mods require function first. I use a speed strap on the forward boot. The head walls around Madison WI.are short-300 ,400 feet vertical,or it would be two. Being 70+ Im fairly done doing 3/4 k vertical . Cheers,Walker

Do you have a video of how to size for your first carver /hammerhead snowboard? I wanna get a full on carver setup. But honestly sometimes I feel like I carve best on my park camber twin board . Any tips I see a donek 164 on sale but my normal board is 154

Love your videos...What size boot are you? I'm a US size 14 (Burton Photon) and Nidecker shows the Supermatic XL from 11.0 - 13.0, wasn't sure if the binding is big enough for my boot size.
