My Dad was a grafter, a farmer all his days. Died at 53 of a heart attack, fit as a fiddle and a complete shock to us all. I have a son and a daughter now, I try my best to install a sense of metal and independence in both my kids. Hopefully I don't go at 53, but if I leave them with as many happy memories that I have of my own father, ill be a proud man.

My grandad for sure. Gave me my first knife when I was 8, and taught me a lot of life lessons. And whilst he was from an older generation that wasn't great at expressing affection, I know that the time and lessons he shared with me were his ways of expressing how a male role model should be, in his own way at least.

And he is another male role model who I strive to have and take care of /with . The torch choosing date will be around the time the next heat wave is on or about to come into play. So you may regret asking for more heat . 😂🐾👍❤️💙

My model was my grandfather. He teach me the value of work and the importance of a good tool maintenance for being effective. Was and old fashioned man with strict values, but when i grew up and become a father i understood that many times is much better than the "relativity" of nowadays. The word that a man gives should have value and being like a contract, or is better stay in silence... 👍🖖 Regards

Thanks for sharing! It seems weird that these 'traditional' value are classed as old fashioned and out of date nowadays. My Dad taught me to hold a door open for a lady. Not because they can't open it themselves, but because it's polite. I think people have misunderstood these traditional values in the modern world
