Wildlife photographer Derek Burgoyne, captured rare footage of a moose shedding their antlers.

He used a drone in eastern Canada to capture the moment. Antlers are commonly spotted on the forest floor when snow recedes in country's like regions of north America, but footage of the shedding itself is extremely rare.

I assume you are from Canada too. Can we legally take these home from national park? If I understand correctly, everything in national park belongs to national park, unless you have hunting license, right?

رصد المغامر الكندي ديريك بورغوين لقطة نادرة وفريدة في الحياة البرية؛ حيث نجح في تصوير أيل لحظة تخلصه من قرونه. وحسب "سكاي نيوز عربية": كان "بورغوين" الذي يهوى جمع قرون الحيوانات، في منطقة نائية بمقاطعة نيو برونزويك شرقي كندا؛ يرصد الحياة الطبيعية بطائرة من دون طيار، عندما رأى 3 من الأيائل بقرون كبيرة. وتتبعت كاميرا مثبتة في الطائرة أحد الحيوانات، الذي توقف ثم بدأ يهز جسده فجأة وبقوة حتى أسقط قرنيه، في لحظة نادرة ومثيرة التقطتها الكاميرا. ونقلت صحيفة "الجارديان" البريطانية عن "بورغوين"، قوله: "هذا كان مستوى آخر. هذا يشبه اليانصيب عندما يتعلق الأمر بتصوير الحياة البرية. لا يمكن أن يكون الأمر أفضل من هذا". ماذا يحدث؟ • تخضع الحيوانات ذوات الحوافر الشائعة شمالي أمريكا الشمالية، لتغيرات جسدية مع حلول الشتاء؛ حيث يصبح الطعام نادرًا. • لتوفير الطاقة يتخلّص الذكور الأكبر سنًّا من القرون الثقيلة بشكل طبيعي عندما تنخفض درجات الحرارة؛ حيث ينمو زوج جديد من القرون في الربيع. • عادة ما يعثر على قرون الحيوانات منتشرة على الأرض في الغابات عندما ينحسر الثلج، لكن لحظة سقوطها نادرة للغاية. ويعمل بورغوين على جمع قرون الحيوانات من الأرض، وهي هواية شعبية مربحة في الولايات المتحدة وكندا، يمكن أن تجلب لصاحبها آلاف الدولارات. وأضاف المغامر: "أنا أستمتع بوجودي في الغابة. إنه تمرين رائع، ومن الممتع تتبع الأيائل خلال الشتاء والبحث عن حظائرها في الربيع. كل واحد تجده يبدو وكأنه الأول".
