I remember in Atlanta there was a large ass lot that the city allowed folks to cut loose to minimize the street racing on Moreland Ave. That shit was eventually taken away. I think it was made way for Porche's super dealership/restoration shop/racetrack.

The reason they took it away is because most of the cops that where okay with car culture understood we where just hanging out and not doing crazy runs down old nat or up 75 . Once most of them guys retired or died the laws got enforced by the guys who didn’t really understand car culture and the young kids coming behind us are stupid and reckless with disregard for respect and responsibility some of them

I agree, it's not the cars, but mixing horsepower, youth, social media, etc... is just a bad recipe. As far as theft at home, I think everyone should invest in a home alarm system and put a motion sensor in your vehicle. If someone gets in your vehicle, the entire home alarm will go off. That's just another layer that will help to make sure you don't sleep through a theft.

Takeovers arent prevalent where I live in Canada, but I 110% agree. Mid 2015's H20i was the vibe the original takeovers wanted to encompass. Cities with these problems dedicating old, abandoned parking lots to cater to these events doing even weekly events would take down on so much illegal activity. I do however disagree about having to charge a fee to do it. Trackdays and drift events as well as car shows like Gridlife already exist, and for a lot of these people; if they could afford it, I'm sure they'd go. I would personally set this same system up almost identically where you have to proove ownership, active plates, registration insurance, valid license, etc. But I would also place medical staff and probably put in a contract or something to tip them off to stay, with some of the local towing companies so that they're there to offer assitance and charge their customers as needed for whatever service. Police there just to watch; with the express understanding that anything non-life threatening goes and vehicles and people enter these pits at their own risk.

Mid 2010s H20i had just the right level of debauchery, yes there were burnouts and it was loud and obnoxious, but most of those activities were kept on the side streets and out of the way of traffic, nothing bad enough ever happened for it to be heard outside of the car scene, most regular people didn't even know what it was, 2020 was the end for most of us, that's when all the takeover kids graduated and had nothing to do because of COVID, so they came down to OC and made it a nightmare for everyone, idk what happened in 2021, but wildwood should have never happened to begin with

Kids nowadays really will try any means necessary to get any popular car on their hands. My last car was a 4 door jeep wrangler which, all I’ve done was put more aggressive off road tires to it. I remember I was driving back home from the beach, and I stopped at a gas station to get a drink for the long drive. As soon as I get out of the gas station, I saw like two kids, walking behind the jeep eyeing where to get in but I just stood and watched as they left. I was lucky that I had Marine decals on the side of my Jeep, so I guess when they came to the side they ran off because they didn’t want the smoke 😂

I was at a meet once and a hellcat charger pulled up and everybody was in awe by it. 8 teens got out of the car all with ski masks on. Car had no plates, driver was throwing gang sigms. Completely ruined the meet. Not the only time that’s happened too. Sometimes hellcats will pull up and the driver never gets out of the car. Rarely do you see them without a driver being a dumb wannabe thug. And keep in mind my area isn’t some weird sketchy place. It’s pretty safe and fairly tame city/town. Big meets are rare so it’s frustrating when a bunch of people in balaclavas and start yelling at people out of their windows and drifitng at the intersection. I just wish these wannabe gangsters would stay the heck away from the car scene.

this is the same situation drag racing found itself in the 1940's. they were racing on streets, people were getting hurt, and it was causing problems. then some racers bought land and set up tracks, later organizations were formed to have some kind of voice, a sanctioning body, and come up with basic safety rules. sure, street racing still exists, it's illegal, and usually shunned by most real racers that take their stuff to a track where they can actually go fast. the fact is you don't need a venue to be free, drivers & venue operators can come together to set up rules for safety & different classes (look at australian burnout competitions.) venues can be designed for good crowd interaction & entertainment value, while ensuring safety and reducing risk. entry fees for both spectators and drivers pays for the venue, its maintenance, safety personnel & equipment, insurance, etc. part of that would require drivers, passengers and spectators to sign liability waivers, because crap happens. drivers would certify they are driving their own cars, submit to a safety inspection and would be on record if something is shady. anyone doing this with stolen rides or even 'hot' parts needs to be shamed- it's BS, and makes everyone involved look bad. class structures should include 'budget/entry level' classes so average dudes can do it too and have practice days/times so noobs have a way to figure it out. then you're not running from the cops, people are lees likely to destroy stuff & piss off community members with stupidity. the venue can include DJ's, lighting & food/trucks, spectators can casually look at cars when they're in the pit area, they can casually meet & know the drivers etc... etc...

I've said the same things about the lil homies riding bikes and ATVs. Why has someone not built them dudes a track, come up with a mechanics program, X-games teams and whatnot for the lil homies. They have the passion, now let's help them redefine the purpose.

7 years ago I wanted a dodge charger scatpack. Glad I bought a truck. I still like them mopars but social media and basketball Americans ruined them for me. No offense but it’s the truth.

The Hellcat/Hemi Charger is the most stolen car in the US now, Donut Media did a video on it. Sucks because I was thinking about getting a Hemi version, even thinking about a Challenger but they also get stolen OR put eyes on your property because they do put airtags on your car and trace it back to your house. I got cameras and protection but I got kids man, I don't want these clowns near my house.

If we're being honest, takeovers became prevalent when Law Enforcement (no doubt order to do so by their city governments) stood down and let them happen.

U mines as well just the red sport cause the awd and better power , u can build a regular q50 but it’ll take a few bolts on and tune to get close to redsport Infinity platform alright , be careful lol

Yes you will get same power with a tune. Red sport runs higher boost from factory but engine is the same.

If people even stayed in parking lots there would be a lot less trouble and it would pass. The BS of taking over intersections where people are trying to drive is pure #ucking BS.

It’s gotten to the point I can’t take my car out after dark on the Weeknd. Cops are looking for modified cars, been stoped a few times already. Lucky for me I’m an old head and they’re looking for y’all youngsters. But I still run the risk of having to deal with the cops just to go for a relaxing ride. 💩 needs to stop
