HMW - how about a public online list of where little toe rags like these are being spotted? You are probably best placed to compile that. A list of known incidents or suspicious sightings and where possible, a link to a video or photo. That way we can define the hotspots, ID the scumbags and up the chances of getting them arrested or perhaps more desirable consequences...

Frosty bro it was in my best interest to get it back, but as seen in the video - the chase became WAY to dangerous to continue. Pedestrians and unsuspecting drivers were caught in the heart of a high speed chase. I did not want to risk killing myself or anyone else in order to get the phone back. Also because of the legalities involved behind a situation like this, myself including other activists who are taking a stance lack the full support of the Policd and immunity from being prosecuted due to the fact that we’re simply giving chase and re-acquiring mobile phones and bikes which do not belong to them. I can lose a £1000 phone but I can’t lose 5 years of my life because I’ve knocked scrotes off a bike and broken their leg. It’s just the harsh reality... 😬

The police can’t win, everyone or here is saying they need to do more, the police have chased kids on stolen bikes years ago and it’s resulted in fatal crashes around our local area. They are massively under staffed and if they do chase these minors on stolen bikes and it results in fatality or a member of public getting harmed, then they will bear the brunt of it. I agree they need to do more but as I’m sure everyone can appreciate they are stuck between a rock and a hard place. These kids have nothing to lose, the police officers have famIlies, mortgages and a career.

Cut backs don't help, but the police have the wrong attitude to prioritising crime. I think it has become an issue where we lack the full support of the Police. We don’t have the immunity of prosecution when it comes to situations like this. Heck - forget about me for a second... Think about the reason why the Police are reluctant to giving chase? It’s a risky game and cards need to be played right. If myself or anyone else carried on this chase, Someone would’ve severely hurt or killed someone - Then before you know it i’ve got a case on my back because I wanted my iPhone back. It really does suck - but trust in the Police needs to be restored in terms of tackling moped enabled crime as there has not been enough done for it. A perfect example would be the BMW Scramblers the Traffic officers use to chase moped thieves. To my knowledge they only do day shifts. This isn’t a valuable execution of resources as moped thieves are active during the night in busy high streets and towns. Oh well...

Note for the readers. If you want to arrest/stop a bike thief, your first response is a key factor. You need to incapacitate them so that they can't flee. Shooting them point blank with a 12mm short range weapon is ideal, but illegal in many contries. But using a baseball bat or other mass weapons like hammer, bar, ... and hitting them in a hit and cover action is possible and will offer good results. Also, waiting they are at high speed and throwing them off balance (driver attack) is another tactic. This will neuter every direct defense tactics of them.

He could GRAB passanger ar 2:00 and 2:55 . Just grab him and figh. And at 4:30 why he turned? He was next to them. Maybe they would pass Police soon, and police could help him to chase. Or than he could grab them and police would help to arrest him. Just grab him, fight, shout for help. Insted he politely saying them stop (Plese) at 2:55 . Dont talk, just grab and fight

this is what has happened due to Theresa may cutting the number of police by 20,000 when she was home secretary .since 2010 we have 22,000 less police officers in England and wales, we are going to have a general election soon and I will vote for the party that will give us back those police officers.

One solution to this problem could be a vigilante biker gang of sorts, somethimg like in USA. It would provide the safety unlike from being a single vigilant. The fear in passerby seem to be that they feel they would be singled out and targeted later on. Creating a community of vigilance would do some real good when the police have their hands tied.

London is like the Wild West especially on 3.50- 4.00 when they were riding the bikes on the pavement. At 3.55 the car owner was lucky he was by his near side door and not on the pavement being killed.

I know people will hate on this comment but sure, see all you honest working moped drivers. Go to a seemstres or what ever have you and on the out side of your jacket sew a long pouch and conceal an iron bar in it. (I'm thinking left for arm) (if your right handed) Some one tries to mug you then split their skull!
