Hey Ben, You were talking about the Eldris having a rubber grip and wished the Garberg had the same. I gotta tell ya, after 3 months of strictly using the Garberg as my edc I found that the grip actually softens up. Weird I know, but its got this really good feel to it now, out of the box I was a bit turned off on that aspect but now I wouldn't choose the rubberized grip. The thing is amazing, I know everyone is all hyped about the Terava Puukkos, in the reviewer world I think many guys have so many knives It kind of takes that aspect away for them. Unfortunately that comes with the process of product reviews, knives sometimes never get used long enough so ya get mainly first impressions. I like those new Terava knives and will eventually get the 140 but the rubberized grips can get really nasty over time, nicks, gouges and sometimes discoloration, which will never happen with the Garberg. I use mine around an hour or two a day carving and whittling, I wanted to let ya know that handle gets better over time, and the leather sheath version is really nice. . Anyways that's my 2¢ worth, folks can take it with a grain of salt to each his own😉 The Garberg IMHO is worthy of its price point, I hope Mora makes a Bushcraft black or a Pathfinder in fulltang, that would be sweet.

Great tip about rounding over the bottom of the notch. I learned something "new to me" today. Thanks for that.

Thanks. Fine demonstration of the Eldris. I got the blue one myself. I have to say that I was a little scared when you operated it between your legs. Of course this might be because I, despite strictly cutting the wood away from my body all the time, got carried away and chose pulling towards me, slashed open my index finger on my non-dominant hand when I was alone in the mountain. I wrapped my finger quickly, heading back to civilization, having a 2 hour drive to a micro surgery center to undergo an operation. I should say it resulted pretty good. It will take some time before I have full recovery, yet still watching the blade which was the only thing that was not guilty of a near disaster. :) Folks only a second of misuse of the blade almost cost me my finger, I hope you don't ignore the safety rules even for a second. Experience does not always help. By the way the operation cost me around 5 grands which is a little over the price of this little Eldris Beauty :). Thanks again Ben.

Superb video review. When your string is a bit loose and burning your spindle, just squeeze the the cord against the end of the bow to add tension. You have learned well, young Jedi. Thanks for sharing, your advice is trustworthy!

Say Heah Ben, Yeah, I bought two Mora Eldris. I also ordered the Mora Kansbol and the Mora Garberg. One of my Eldris I got in green the other one in black to match my Garberg. The Kansbol is also in the O. D. Green. I teamed my green Mora's with my Fox Parang Bushcraft Jungle Knife. It's in the O. D. Green also, making it a nice matching set. The black Eldris I use as a neck knife except I teamed it with my Cold Steel Master Hunter and my Fox Jungle Parang which is a tich larger and it's in black also. I really like my Eldris. It's like using the best part of a larger knife, But in a smaller size. I really like my Eldris, especially the handle size. I find I have a very good purchase on it.,,. p

I like it a lot. They hit the nail on the head for people that hate folders but like a true in the pocket knife. I'd like to see a belt loop, perhaps the Kansbol style loop would work, hope they sell it separately. Appreciate your point about the sharp spine. Everyone loves that, but honestly, it's more burden than it's worth. We all go out with 10 ways to start fires, and in a real emergency you could always use the blade side. The sharp spine isn't just about discomfort, it's also about taking your focus from the task to ensure you're not touching the blade. With a rounded spine you don't even think about it because your thumb instantly knows.

yep, i've used the blade side many times with zero harm done to the knife.

Nice *little* knife! Looks like it could tasks that some pocket knives can't. That knife would be great for a minimalist survival kit or camping pack. Only thing is why does something smaller than the Mora Companion cost more? Is it the metal, labor, or the grip?

Great video as always, Ben! Have you gotten the Kansbol (I think I spelled that right, lol) yet? It's like the full size version of the Eldris. I think I'd personally like that better for carving, but that's just me. The Eldris should/would make a heck of a skinner, though.

worst example of knife safety ever, working within the triangle of death and cutting towards ones self. didnt even watch the whole vid.
@livingsurvival
@livingsurvival 7 жыл бұрын
lol, you've been watching too much tv. it's called being comfortable using a knife. i was nowhere near the circle of death and was cutting away from myself. to each their own though.
@theShepardsPath
@theShepardsPath 7 жыл бұрын
how do i know you dont know what your talking about? you just called it the circle of death, when it is in fact the triangle as i clearly stated in my post. no attention to detail...i bet you dont even know what the triangle of death is. how about you clearly define it for us here? in mark 5:56 " while scooping out your board..." yea, cutting right towards your leg....do you even review your work before you post it? maybe you should and i guarantee that 100% you wont get comments like this... cant believe i had to finish watching this just to point to those GLARING FACTS too you...

@livingsurvival 7 жыл бұрын
Morgan Garrett you are the expert, why not make a video?
@livingsurvival
@livingsurvival 7 жыл бұрын
there are definitely times when you wouldn't want to work in the "triangle of death", using an axe for example. Using a small carving knife to whittle on a stick is a risk I and many many others take. You must whittle off to the side or use the chest method like you learned in a book. Thing is, when you are actually out there, you know doing stuff, you learn to feel comfortable with certain things and not others. It's called control. Yes, mistakes happen and if they do you can say told me so. Fair?
