I was a Mora snob before I bought one of these. Absolutely love it. Not a better knife for the money.

Totally Agree. I bought a couple. Much better value and performance than my old F1. Leather sheath is great. You can wetform it as well. Cheers, Pete

Great review. I’ve had the black Garberg for about 2 months now and is the upgrade to my Companion. This is my list of knives. Companion and companion HD, Garberg carbon, Kansbol and Eldris and outdoor wood carver. Last of all and my only other make is my Gerber Strong Arm 💪 which is a really really tough SOB.

Hello my friend, do you sharpen your garberg up to the primary bevel or just the secondary/micro bevel? Noticed your Garberg's primary bevel is still coated black. Thanks in advance.
@eagleridge19722 жыл бұрын
I use knives pretty hard and for hard use I prefer to keep that secondary bevel. I do a good amount of game prep and zero doesn't like an encounter with bone.

@@eagleridge1972 oh I see. May I have your opinion which will be a better slicer? A full scandi or with a secondary bevel? Thanks in advance.
@Airik1111bibles Жыл бұрын
@skeelomax4625 With a scandi Zero it will be way spicy but I recommend a slight convex . If ya plan on just doing lots of wood work go zero grind no secondary. Answered for ya a year later so guessing ya figured it out yourself LOL

Great review! I love the Garberg. I can´t decide if I like this more or the Terävä Jääkäripuukko, both are fantastic. I have never tried a Fällkniven cause I think they are a little too expensive.

hi,,,,did that come ready to throw sparks or did you have to file coating off?....thank you for your videos

Yes it comes with a sharp spine and the its a blueing more than a coating so it doesn't hinder ferro rod or flint striking at all.

Now a days, these are coming in much lower than 100 USA dollars, usually around 75 shipped…. That’s a screaming deal. You can then put the remainder to a decent ferro rod (10.00) a stainless cup for the bottom of the bottle (5.00) and a cheap tarp (10.00) and you’ve got 100 bucks invested in a kit that can save your life. Just add whatever and however much cordage you want. In my town, paradors can be found at the dollar tree for 1.00 per 20.00 feet.

My wife and All 8 of my children carry at least a good quality pocket knife, as well as a ferro rod, I consider theses the bare essentials of edc, for our desert ranch,

Like watching but...you cannot say it's the "best"unless you've tried them all, and yes, I checked one out my cousin bought, we tried it, we loved it, until we messed up the handle by trying get it out of a piece of wood. Yes i know the handle isn't for batoning, but my Schrade F2SM survival knife was enacted for the rescue, A $45.00 survival knife saved it. Do I still want a Mora-G'?, yes, but maybe when a little greenback has been shaved off the price tag 🖒.
@eagleridge19725 жыл бұрын
I have used every knife that I can think of In and above that price bracket. I have used at least 40 or 50 four inch bladed knives, mostly outside the price bracket of this knife. What €100 knives do you think is superior? Ie has 90 degree spine, 4 inch blade, exposed hammering pommel. ? I would be happy to give my comparison opinion. I personally don't care for schrade, I have some disastrous issues with their grinds and I am not too keen on hollow handled survival knives, but hey whatever works for you is great. I do know this, for the price the Garberg carbon has out performed many knives with double the price bracket. I definitely recommend it to my students and if they can't afford a garberg a hultafors ok4, but sadly it's not full tang and as a result I can't recommend it as a Survival knife.

Eagle Ridge Survival-- thanks for the return comment, I do like them alot and will eventually get one. I have the robust, it's tougher than railroad spikes, I would like to have seen the garberg with the point in center line for easier drilling. I have the Esee 4 model 4P-DT, I gave 95.00 for, Have you tried one of these, and if you have, whats your thoughts?, Thank you and we enjoy your video's.
@eagleridge19725 жыл бұрын
@@mitchalgreen7244 Yes I have an esee 4 also a great knife for sure and tough as an old boot. I do prefer a knife that comes with a 90 degree spine for a multitude of purposes. I am gearing this vid towards someone that wants a knife that is good to go without any customisation. The pr4 might give the Garberg a run for its money but it's around 30% more expensive in Ireland.
