I don´t know why people are complaining about the price of the Mora. You get a practically indestructible knife. Get one of these, a Leatherman Wingman and a Gränsfors small forrest axe and you are ready for the apocalypse ;).

I like the rubber type handles on many of the other Mora's and have never managed to break the tang in any of them, the other Mora knives are a lot of knife for a little weight when you're covering some distance with a backpack. One thing I've learnt in the bush is if somethings doing a good job for you, stick with it, you're better off getting to know your tools than just replacing them for the sake of novelty. If in the future a full tang Mora is what will do the best job for me, I'll stump up the cash but as you've said, there's a lot of other options out there. Thanks for the video!

Thanks for watching. Great comment - I go through the same with the Fallkniven F1. Its the one thats had proper woods use for a couple of years, and will always at least sit in the bottom of my pack in the event I find a blade (even one I may love) is giving me the shits for whatever reason. Its just about perfect for my use. Most of the others are mainly for fun.

Mora Bushcraft Black - Probably one of the cheapest fixed blade knives I own (aside for a nasty Chinese cheapy), but my most used. Partly, because it's cheap I don't mind beating it up a bit, but it's so comfortable, with a great blade profile that stays sharp (but is easy to re-sharpen). Perfect for baton'ing to make kindling and with the sharpener and firesteel attached and being so light, it's ideal for throwing in my pack when we go for a hike or camp. Just a perfect all-round little knife!

Thanks great review. I like the sleek profile of the Garberg and the mounting system allows me to attach it upside down on the strap of my back while hiking in the Rockies. I put a small paracord loop In the hole at the end of the handle, which you can put your pinky through to ensure your hand won’t slip. Strongarm and Mora bushcraft are both great for small hikes or around camp or home, but on a climb I take the Garberg

I was really excited when I hear mora were producing a full tang. now it's here I think it looks like a very capable knife. I just can't get past the extra expense of the bushcraft black though. even more so a companion HD. great bunch of knives here though, I'd happily carry any of these on my belt.

I really like my mora knife. It has a Ferro rod built inside the handle. It also takes a razors edge fairly easy. I wrapped the plastic sheath in paracord. It stays inside my catfish tacklebox. And love my Gerber Armstrong as well. I have it on me anytime in woods or around water. I'd trust either to get me thru a survival situation. Thank you for sharing and God bless. I received my Morakniv Garberg recently. I was able to acquire it on Amazon Prime for $58 US. I could not pass up that rate. I have yet to give it field test. The knife as a whole seems durable. Again, for the rate paid, it was well worth it. I'm looking forward to putting it to use.

Good solid review. While some critiqued your information, it was clear that you were simply presenting your own personal findings through use, as well as information on the knife specs. No unnecessary "beating" of the knifes, and obviously no specific partiality to sny one knife. Good neutral review of 5 very capable knives that vary in price and finishes. I have a mora champion HD, mora kansbol, toos bob, lt wright genesis, lt wright gns, and several others that i either have now or have had and sold. Out of all of them i prefer the lt wright gns....the reasons for me are thst the handle scales are perfect in my hand, and the blade style lends itself better to the tasks i need it for.

Say Heah Cedric, Yeah, I really like my Mora Garberg. Infact I got the Leather Sheath with mine. Anyhow, I still have a hard time choosing which knife I use unless it's raining. My other knife is my Vintage Blind Horse Bushcrafter which I had the handle made flat and I had it polished. It came out like a High End Kephart. This little Jewel is a Lil'tank. I have absolutely no problem split and twist my Kindling or stab and twist it. It's that durable. It's made in O1 that was Tempered by Peter's who does alot of high quality knives. I admire it for being so simple and yet so Beautiful. Anyhow, both being similar in size the Blind Horse Bushcrafter is more a Kephart style. The handle ofcorce is a Natural Micarta that aged Beautifully. Suprisingly the Micarta when wet swell a little improving slippage (micro swells) That's my problem, which one to choose. In both cases I can team either with my Estwing Sportsman Hatchet or any other Hatchet, or even team it with my Summer Long Knife. All I have to do is exchange my handle color on my Ka-Bar Johnson Adventure Parangatang (black or brown) when using each knife if I want to color match them. Infact I teamed my 3V Skookum Bush Tool with my Ka-Bar Johnson Adventure Parangatang this weekend I also brought my Agawa Canyon 21 Boreal Saw and my Cold Steel Ultimate Hunter Folder and my Gerber Multi Tool which I use to take off hot pots of the fire, or carefully using my Awl on it to untangle paracord. The weekend weather is going to be warm and no rain so I didn't bring a Hatchet because I can chop enough wood with my Parangatang and I can baton it as well. It's a 14.125" blade and .190" thick. So it's definitely a great Machete made out of 1095 CroVan Steel. I've used this type of combo's before so I know what to expect. Besides I'm more concerned clearing brambles than staying warm especially this weekend. I really enjoy watching your channel, You did good, Again. Oh, I like what you do with edge retention videos too.,,. p

Morakniv Garberg is king. One reason is the tip has a less of a false edge on the top of the spine. This allows the knife to be a lot stronger at the tip. Other knife companies push to the rear a false grind on the top making up susceptible to breakage. If I had one knife to pick for survival, it would be the Morakniv Garberg. Plus it's only 70 US dollars.

The tip can be broken as easily as any other cheap knife. Better steel costs more.

I have two knives that I'd place into the category of viable alternatives to the garb. First is the Terava Jaakaripuukko. Basically the same knife but an objectively better handle and sheath. roughly the same blade shape with blade lengths available. Made of a pretty impressive steel. Best part is that it's half the price of the garberg. The other is a Russel Green River 5" hunter. It doesn't come with a sheath but the blade is less than $20 american (sometimes as low as $12) dollars. There's some varied reviews but I've never had any issues with the blade but for that price you're getting a tough full tang blade for the price of a Companion. I have held more comfortable blades (Mora's in particular) than the Green River but it still fits my hand wonderfully.

B4 freedomfighter yeah 14c28 is sometimes used for razors I've heard. So it makes sense that it would take an awesome edge. I'm with you as far as certain companies charging super prices for "super steels". Thanks for the convo, take care

Nice review Bro..I'm really surprised Dave Canterbury is backing this knife??... You've just shown that the're better knives out there for a lower price! Dave C is a funny old sort - this knife certainly doesnt meet his criteria for a good camp knife at all (being that its not made of uncoated steel and its not over 5 inches long). I like him a lot but suspect he may have had a bit of the 'free gear excitement' lots of the bigger chanels get when they have a new thing first (and for free). Also not sure if he was a paid spokesman for the knife at some point. I think he worked their booth at SHOT show?

Very good comparison and point of view. It's funny to me that I was thinking just yesterday that the Garberg and the Strongarm bear a similar design. The original LMF 2 is a meatier knife and then they reduced the size just a tad when they created the Prodigy and now the designers at Gerber really slimmed down the handle. Personally, I find the handle to be rather ugly or at lest too busy with all the contouring. I prefer the more elegant look of the Falkniven, the Bushcraft or knives like the out of production Kershaw Antelope Hunter or the Cold Steel Recon Tanto or SRK. And even here in the U.S. the Garberg costs the most. Don't know the situation in other places, but here in Florida, the stores seem oblivious and downright ignorant about the knife market and they don't have what's popular. The inventory varies and people in the stores have no clue about what is good, what's new, or what to order and stock.

If you don't need the Sandvic stainless, then it seems expensive. Comparing the Garberg's price to carbon steel knives is not really valid. I'm not knocking your video - it was fine - but I get bent out of shape when people in the comments say it's too expensive. If all they need is a $15 Companion, sure it's pricey. It's significantly less money than any other full-tang Sandvic knife I can find [50% less than the F1 here]. A lifetime warranty is hard to put a price on as well.

Vertex Breach 2nd this expands on your first point u dont need a razor edge all the time, just a working edge. more than half of the steels out there will lose the razor edge after one feather stick

Vertex Breach tell me this how hard it is to take a light my fire, attach it to a carabiner, then clip that to your belt loops? have u ever tried to start a fire with a flint and steel without having it all prepared? its nigh impossible unless u have ideal conditions. u cant use wood or anything like that. u have to use certain molds/funguses. or charred material.

That is literally the dumbest name I've ever heard for a knife. Sounds like "garbage." Total Nova moment there. Interesting video!

Clay Ballard The name "Garberg" has specific meaning... It's an area outside of Mora, Sweden where cattle were herded and allowed to graze. Unfortunately it's name in English does sound like "garbage". That doesn't make the name dumb so much as misunderstood.

It`s too pricey for my taste, for the money (it goes for around 90€ here) I can get a a whole lot of other, better knives (The Real Steel Bushcraft II is only 60€). I don`t even consider getting one for a review unless Mora drops the price to like 70€.

It's a rip off. I'm waiting for Mora to raise prices on all it's products. As soon as a brand has bit of hype, popularity, they start raping consumers. Look at utilitarian clothing brands especially -- ur what used to be common, no frills Barber jacket or Cat boots. Look at them now. Mora will go same way so stock up now
