Hi Vimoh! I request you to do a separate video on issues faced by transgender people in India and the initiatives that are being taken for their benefit. Most recently Tamil Nadu government issued a draft policy for LGBTQIA+ people which included giving them the right to hold office in the administrative services. It would be great if you do even a single video highlighting the state of LGTBQ+ people in India. It would be even better if you invite a transgender person engaged in activism on your podcast show and discuss it in length with them.

When we keep listening to rationalist channels and the callers who visit these channels for debate gives us an idea how horrible is Indian education system. If the current kind of govts are going to continue to rule India. We are making sure to remain as developing country forever. It's a shame that country which once had a vishwaguru (Buddha) remains so ignorant in 21 century. Should we say thanks to brahmanism / Hinduism.

About worker co-operatives, we have to be careful that it does not oppress the people working within it and customers as well. I recently went to Kashmir, there are unions in every tourist place. Often times I noticed, that if a poor person wanted to close the sale for a product for even lesser than 10rs than the decided price which would allow him to eat today, the whole union would come after him. Also, there was an instance for which the union was asking unfair price, they promised to take us 12kms but they only took us less than 2kms. Even when the workers agreed with our point, the union leader was rude and arrogant. All the profits went into the hands of the union leaders, and the workers were merely getting paid rs 10,000 per month despite the efforts they put in. We told the union leader and tried to bargain with them because all the services promised to us. They threatened us stating that "yaha se bahar nikal k dikhao, puri union tumhe bahar khadi milegi" Unions also need to be monitored by some organizations, because if the leader chosen by them is not a good person, it may lead to more oppression of the worker class

49:21 Vimoh, you are absolutely right. No one in our psychology circle takes Freudian theory on sexual/survival instincts seriously anymore. Freud offered a lot of insights, such as, helping us understand how childhood impacts adulthood. But psychoanalysis doesn’t rest on his older concepts anymore, like you rightly mentioned.

At around 55:00 the speaker says ki psychology se we can understand why do we fail to follow morality? I think it is because no morality is inherently binding or imperative, as it is a human made concept for running a society. Nothing can stop one from breaking ones own set morality (anytime). When one is aware that one has such freedom it becomes a huge challenge to restrict oneself to follow certain moral principles. People try and fail all the time. Psychology can point to certain aspects and patterns but again those will be mostly subjective and not universal.

Hi ... Frued psychosexual development .... sexual energies are not understood in complete sexual sense.... it includes in the sense of life energy , pleasure n sensuality and attraction and curiosity .... Thus these energies .... in one word can be defined life energies ( mostly related to development in life ) .... he has also mentions Death energies ... which would include aggression or destructive energies .... and his theories of development are very important to understand ... how identity of individual is developed as in personality in children . And development of gender identity n gender roles and attraction ... Thereby psychosexual development .... in childhood activitoes related to pleasure n survival .... and after a certain age Identifying self as a certain gender and learning n behaving in that gender role and also how preference and sexual behavior towards partner developed .... It helps find .... a lot of explanation for much abnormal behaviour .... His theories of mind ... subconscious .... most popular and used even today .... and Defense mechanisms and functioning of ego in day to day life are still very much used and applicable .... So that was about importance of his work .... But this sexual world ... created too much curiosity and attention esp in that conservative society and later .... most other parts of the theories were not understood well .... Eg ... attraction towards your opposite sex parent ... here the energy is curiosity and sensuality .... but the child doesn't even understand the word sex ... and has no idea or inclination to do so .... Thus the theory was quite misunderstood .... Bur later in life with so much attention it was getting from the conservative society .... Freud also started to give e too much importance to the sexual energy .... And so many other psychologist parted ways from it .... eg Yung and Bowles.... n creates a lot of conflict ... after this as far as I remember , None of his work was of that quality as it got biased .... Eg ... he spoke about penis envy in girl child .... and Bowles reacted to that with male Inferiority due to inability to produce a child .... But finally .... children of that age ... don't know much about child birth and its privileges and no idea of penis and its privileges ( if there are any 😂) It was just developmental curiosity and realization that men n women are different .... And the sensual energy Is no way directed to the other person but exploring self body and its ability to experience pleasure .... I hope this helps vimoh to get some realistic and human understanding about Freud and his work ... we all are influenced by our own personality and culture n power n attention we get ....he was just a man with some good work and out of track ... So do you do ... right ... all scriptures are not free of distortion over ages ... and not even one's same lifetime. ( religions take a gap of centuries with purity ) 😂😂😂

It's strange I wonder why people who believe in objective morality don't take point of view to the next step.. ie..if you believe it's objectively true that "murder is wrong".. Will the same hold true if we remove humans from the equation. Murder is no longer morally wrong as no humans exist.. Therefore morality is mostly subjective. Note subjective in philosophical terms doesn't mean we cannot reach a consensus. With discussion even ideas which are subjective can be hashed out

1). Transgender male/female should be a different categories in sports specifically where physicality plays an important role to be fair for all participants. 2). As there are no proof of why someone created the idea of GOD/religion one theory can be coz we're always a critically thinking/philosophical species (reasons may be the biology...different discussion) and just by observations of nature/universe from early times we realized that somethings were/are always out of bounds for us to understand/explain (dark energy, dark mater, no connection between quantum and theory of relativity etc in current era of evolution) and let just name them 'X' also some learnings needs to be passed on for survival (living good and healthy life of course region/geography specific) lets call them 'Y' There you go X is the GOD, supreme power, higher energy, divine intervention (lack of freewill in universe) etc. and Y is the religion with specific set of rules which made survival of a large group of people possible

@@jennifersangma8766 but cheating DOES emotionally hurt your wife, and it's a betrayal of what we expect in marriage (which is faithfulness). if you made a deal with your wife that you'll have an open marriage so having sex with others is okay, that would not be a betrayal and would not hurt her, so that would not be immoral (it wouldn't even be cheating, as it fits what both partners expect from the marriage). however most marriages do not have this, and so sex with someone who isn't your wife becomes immoral. because of the betrayal.

I couldn't join the livestream so I'm asking here. I have a friend who says that bashing religion doesn't suit Indians because the most sacrifices made in India were by religious people. Guru Gobind singh, shivaji maharaj, shahuji maharaj and other examples he gave. He says name 10 atheist independence fighters and I'll name 500 theist fighters. I named 10 and he says in response "Gandhiji and all his followers". His argument is that if these religious people had not sacrificed their lives then we would not have been here. like we are alive because those religious people gave their lives. I told him that this is bs and that only religious people sacrificed their lives isn't true. He says that if those religious people had not sacrificed their lives then scientists would not have been alive to do science. And I said that religion was advantageous during the independence struggle that doesn't mean it gets a license to do whatever is wants now. His response was "so we shouldn't even remember those who sacrificed?" I'm tired of arguing with him but I also don't want to give up. What should my next line of argument be?

You should ask have i ever criticized religious people at a personal level ? Give him an analogy that, If in a war a warrior saves the life of a women who is from the other side then, is the woman obliged to follow whatever that warrior says or does to her. And if he abuses her after saving her is it morally justified ? If modi ji gives 1000 people home in pradhan mantri avas yojna are they obliged to support the government regardless of their actions ? (Don't let him distract you by answering "but the government actions are good", tell him to answer in YES or NO.)

Don’t just take ideas from people and use them verbatim as your own. If you do that you come across a follower of someone who doesn’t have their own ideas. Try to read more and watch debates of different kinds so as to develop skills and language to use in a debate. For starters watch videos of Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hithchens arguing about religion. Read on what different types of logical fallacies are. The line of argument your friend is using is known as Ad hominem fallacy. In your friend’s mind and I suspect unintentionally yours too, attacking a person’s opinion is same as attacking the person. Opposing a religious freedom fighter’s religious view is not the same as attacking them at personal level or even opposing their views on freedom politics or any other views. We don’t celebrate and respect their sacrifice because they were religious but because they helped in betterment of our society. And if your friend claims that their views of a better society comes because of them being religious then ask him to provide proof of such a claim. This can go on and on but always remember the purpose of debate isn’t winning an argument but making people understand your point of view.

Fk bro the first guy raised the good question but ended up being an arse by the end. Like see we used to be ruled by kings which is dictatorship (ig). Then it didn't work for us we adapted democracy. Just like that maybe there was a time which was so dependent on human morality maybe it didn't work that's why they created "God" concept to make people fear of something not just another human. I am not going to support stuff that happens in the name of god. But God concept , karma keeps people humble. Yes atheists are good sensible.. Yeshh everything but it gives hope and bit of a guidance for people who donno world much around them. This is a very positive tone am talking with. I saw people using religion for such such things and I also things people use it for being better being good, being peaceful in my Christian family. It goes for other religions too. Ik faith is personal it's better be like that.
