There are endorsements of slavery in the New Testament. 1 Peter 2:18, Saint Peter writes "Slaves, be subject to your masters with all reverence, not only to those who are good and equitable but also to those who are perverse." " Colossians 3:22, "Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to curry their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord." No where in the Bible is there an explicit decree not to own slaves. The best semi direct claim Christians have is a rebuke of kidnapping another slave owner's slave and perhaps a criticism of people who sell slaves (1 Timothy 1:9-10) BUT it depends on which translation. Some versions say selling slaves, some say stealing slaves. However, if you inherited your slaves you've neither bought nor stolen them. So there is no direct pronouncement against the institution of slavery to the best of my knowledge in the Bible. Please correct me with chapter and verse if I'm mistaken.

We know the Virgin Mary didn’t ascend to heaven because the original text literally waits she wasn’t a virgin, only a young girl who had come of age. The Hebrew word for virgin is “bethulah” which never appears in relation to Mary. Greek scholars mistranslated “almah” (young girl) to virgin because in Greek mythology, almost every savior figure was born of a divine father and virgin mortal mother. This lines up with Judaism where the Messiah isn’t divine or born of a virgin and doesn’t die. The Jewish Messiah is a secular king anointed by god who does specific things, none of which Jesus fulfilled. (I’m atheist buy raised Jewish) Watch what happens when you inform a Christian that their bible says the Messiah will be named “Emmanuel.” (Matthew and Luke)
