@jordanhester4821 there's no gap there. Christians believe God works thru us. So God saved the kid thru the doctors. You ever heard the one about the guy in the flood? Govt warns the farmer flood is coming, better evacuate. He says no , God will take care of me. Flood is halfway up his house & he's on the roof, rescue boat comes by to save him, He say no thanks, God will save me. Next he's drownin & sees God & asks why God didn't save him? God replied I tried, I sent warnings and rescuers, but you refused my help.

They cannot comprehend that some people grew up in church, studied the Bible more critically than they did and concluded that it doesn't stand up to scrutiny.

As long as we continue to keep clinging to antiquated and unsubstantiated faith based beliefs like morality or rights. It's all just an imaginary fantasy made up to control and manipulate ppls behavior. There is no objective morality or higher authority. Good and evil aren't real, they dont exist. There are no right or wrong actions. Just nature and survival. We will never be able to make the nessessary decisions, and take the crucial actions required to save the earth if we keep hanging on to theistic notions of morality like human life having intrinsic value. We don't. There are literally over 8 billion of us, pushing the threshold of what the planet can even support. In reality we are actusly completely disposable. And if earth is gona stand any chance we desperately need to do a 180 on sll of our policies towards ppls well being. So we will need a method of calculating and determing ppls individual worth, so we can discern who is valuable enuf to justify the precious limited resources they will need to consume.,....and who is not. We aren't gona be able to do that if we insist on shackling ourselves to the theistic ideas of morality like humsn life being sacred , or having intrinsic value.

@jeffreyjdesir if humanity wants any hope of a future we are gona need to let go of these antiquated faith based beliefs like 'morality ' or 'rights'. Particularly the distinctly theistic presupposition that human life has any intrinsic value. Bc empirically, it doesn't. There are over 8 billion of us, pushing the threshold of what the planet can even support. We will need to be able to calculate exactly what ppls value is, to determine who's well being is worth a share of the planets precious limited resources, . . .and who's does not. Morslity is an imaginary fantasy made up to control and manipulate ppls behavior, it isn't real. There is no 'right' & 'wrong' , only survival.

This man's son was born at a period of time with medicine advanced enough that he could be treated appropriately. My son was not for his particular diagnosis. That's it. @@gregsanich5183 Life is rough and unforgiving. When I say morality has its roots in nature is because we define good or bad depending on the wellbeing on the species. That's why we evolved empathy as a social species. Those who'll only look out for themselves will eventually be shunned without the confines of developed societies. It can be observed in the most basic of interactions in primates like sharing food or not leaving behind the injured as other species do, humans took that to a whole other level taking care of even other species (which at first could be described as mutualistic).

@robbieortsak6486 hmm, so I wonder where does all the grape, infanticide, and canabilsm we commonly observe in nature fit in to your premise, exactly? What you're describing is merely a preferred survival strategy, not a moral obligation. Regardless of how much more successful or not, any particular survival strategy may be, what would make it a moral obligation to have to adopt any specific one?

His god already new of the issues his son would have and allowed it to happen. "Until 100 year ago we believed rain was a miracle" BS. When he started telling the story of how his son was "healed" by the Jesus guy, I remembered something that happened at the church I used to go with my mother. A little kid from the church was diagnosed with cancer. That boy was very, very loved by everybody. Since day 1 everybody prayed, cried and was "filled" with the magical🪄 Holy Spirit. His family didn't rest day and night, every time they had an opportunity to pray, they did. I even remember once my mother and I ran into them in a mall and we started praying for the little boy at that exact moment and at that exact place. There was no shame. As time passed, the boy just kept getting worse and worse and worse, until he couldn't even walk anymore and came to the church in a wheelchair. The doctors said that he had his days counted. Still the family and the whole church didn't accept what the doctors were saying. I remember they used to say in their sermons: *"SCIENCE SAYS ONE THING, BUT God SAYS ANOTHER THING!!! IN THE NAME OF Jesus Christ, THIS BOY WILL BE THE PROOF OF OUR FAITH AND THAT CANCER WILL BE GONE IN THE NAME OF THE Holy Spirit!! God HAS GREAT PLANS WITH THIS CHILD!!"* Everybody used to give a big loud *AMMEENN!!!* Well, guess what... the cancer finished its job and killed the little boy. The kid was never mentioned again at the church. No miraculous magical healing, no special sparkling plan for the kid, no effect of the prayers. Just sh*t that happens everyday to both humans and other animals.

Obviously you can do both and many people do. But its clear to most people which method works the best. As it should be

@truetranny You are terrible at reading what people write.. Thats a shame. You fall under the 1 percent So you havent proven anything. Having said that. Do you really want me to believe that if your children had a life threatening medical problem you would chose prayer instead of surgery if you could only pick one? If thats really the case then you shouldnt be allowed to have kids in the first place

Can we start making fun of every theist who brings up the Fibonacci sequence in reference to it's existence in nature? Every example they give of this is just a spiral pattern, and quite literally none of them follow the actual Fibonacci sequence.

Dude really tried to use Pascal's wager. He spent his life trying to love his family and friends and coworkers as best as he could? But this isn't all there is, according to him. It would just be a push for conversion for this guy, with the expectation of eternity in heaven with them. In a naturalistic worldview, ALL WE HAVE is this one life to love our family, friends, and coworkers as best as we can. The degree of urgency is HUGE compared to theists.

HyperInsulinism in newborns (what his son suffered from) is found in one in 50,000 births and is completely curable. Also it is genetic, with high risk in cousin marriages (about one in 2500). I have a feeling he married his cousin, or close relation.

Jebus’s crucifixion is said to only have lasted 6 hours. I ask why would someone pay up to 3 scribes to paint a sign in 3 languages for a crowd that couldn’t read and give him a fas’ pass to an honorable burial in a rich man’s tomb? 11:51 says he’s studied the Bible his whole life, but doesn’t know it says only gawd knows who’s saved. Wtf is wrong with people

Preachers tend to make really really bad apologists. They are too used to running off of scripts and sermons to the point where (for this guy at the very least) it's hard for them to have a natural flowing conversation. Every response has been rehearsed but when it doesn't land for the other crowd they can't help but jump to the next cue card response.

You know what causes hyperinsulinism in newborns? When the mother is diabetic and have uncontrolled diabetes (high blood sugar that crosses the placenta) during the pregnancy. Babies are delivered with hypoxia (low oxygen, hence blue), hypotonia (low muscular tone), macrosomia (big body for their age becuase insulin is an anabolic hormone), sacral malformations (because the baby is to big for the uterus) and hyperinsulinemia (caused as a response for the elevated glucose that crossed the placenta to level dow the hyperglycemia). What happens is that once the baby is born they still produce large ammounts of insulin and doesn't have enough glucose source thus the extremely low levels of glucose, no glucose -> anaerobic respiration -> hypoxia. It's something that with initial treatment and monitoring the pancreas eventually will produce normal levels of insulin. Other explaination is an insulinoma. A Beta cell tumor from the pancreas that produces large ammouts of insulin. This one requires further monitoring because it can be linked with other endocrine tumors. It is treated with excision of the tumor. There's no fucking miracles to explain that. That was literally the first two things that came to my mind when whe wasnt even over with the story.
