I can't blame anyone for being disappointed that this band didn't hit the circuits hard and rise to the top; they certainly had the songs and vocals to do that. Instead, they CHOSE to just disappear for years. Some said they were disillusioned by the business, some said they wanted to start/raise a family (which they did). But finally, they seem to be starting back up. I sure hope so, her flawless voice and his gorgeous songs are near impossible to find these days. Lots of great acts/talent out there, but they have a unique sound... beautiful music! Worth the wait!

Yeah it was to focus on family and David had spoken about concerns with fame and hype in a few interviews. Between their second, Blind, and final album Harriet and David welcomed their daughter to the world. They focused on family time and then quietly recorded/released their last album accompanied by a tour. Then walked away, and a good time to do that too. They're all still active with music in different ways. Don't think The Sundays will return. Just enjoy the 3 albums we got. Sometimes best left that way.

Even with poor video and poor sound quality the band and Harriet still sound absolutely spectacular. “Goodbye” is a remarkably good piece of music. One of my favourite Sundays songs of all time.

I grew up into adulthood with bands like this. Listening to their music and watching the videos really bring me back to wonderful but also confusing times. 30 years later I see why they decided to walk away. They had that clarity to not risk their family and their relationship. They decided to be like the rest of us mortals, though now they are a little legendary 😊

Saw them on this tour in LA- one of the best live shows ever. Her voice is heavenly. But seriously where in the hell are they? Release some new music for us! Surely her voice is still lovely!

@Mike Bailey I really wish they would show back up!

@Mike Bailey agreed about the industry, disagree about putting your gift under a barrel. There are other options in this day and age! That being said I am totally respectful of their choices, just wishful thinking!

@@unicornsandrainbowsandchic2336 honestly with how easy it is to release music independently it would be totally viable for them to release new works - the music industry today is very different than it was in 1990

This is my favorite song ever made. How badly I want to see it live but knowing it won’t be the same kills me. “Just give me a easy life and peaceful death”

Right, there was an awful (to me) fashion shift to high waist pants. I couldn't stand them, preferring hip hugger style. But as slim as she is, they work.
@joeltunnah2 жыл бұрын
She actually had a bit of her own style going on, or maybe they were more popular in the UK. In western NY state these were called “mom jeans” and I didn’t know any girls who wore them in High School (‘89) or college. You’d get seriously made fun of.
@ronaldjaybelin5208 ай бұрын
Those are relaxed alright, although I wouldn’t say they evoke a ‘mommy’s’ jeans..?

They had a few minor hits here, but I had to drive to Toronto to see them in ‘92.
