It wasn't Morgana or Mordred's fault they became evil. It was technicaly Uther's fault. He never gave magic a chance. And they had to grow up seeing people die.

mordred also took a dark turn because merlin exposed him and the girl (I forgot the name). if merlin had kept quiet, mordred wouldn't have helped morgana.

I also love this song. I like the idea of Mordred being Arthur's and Morgana's secret son. I really wish, though, that the writers had done more with Mordred and Morgana being "united in evil." We only got one episode of them working together in Season 5. The relationship between Morgana and Mordred, however, is still one of my favorites from Merlin. Morgana truly loves Mordred. You did a wonderful job putting this video together. You matched up very nicely the lyrics with the clips. I also liked how you included the clip of Kara, since she was Mordred's main motivation for joining Morgana. This video told very beautifully the tragic story of Arthur, Morgana, and Mordred. You did an excellent job with this video.

I have to disagree there. "The Drawing of the Dark" totally broke my heart, and I'm glad that most of what was shown of Mordred in series five was his goodness and kindness. although it would have been nice to have seen more of a transition (there's one deleted scene in particular I wish they'd kept in) instead of boom "evill" Mordred I do like the relationship between Mordred and Morgana, and that even at the end, crazy as she was, she truly grieved for him, but I also love his relationship with Arthur.

Midnight It sort of depends on the legend. I think in the older Welsh ones he's against Arthur but not necessarily evil or a traitor, just on the other side. Actually the very first mention of him doesn't even specify that he and Arthur were on opposite sides just that they both died at Camlann. It's the later ones where he's portrayed as a traitor and evil. And there's even some Scottish versions where Mordred is the rightful king and Arthur is a usurper who tries to steal his throne.

Really loved this, the song is beautiful and I've always loved the relationship between Morgana and Mordred, though I wished the show had made him their actual son instead of just mother and father figures to him they still wonderfully portrayed Mordred's bond with both of them and you showed that here! Truly a stunning video!

They could hardly include brother/sister incest in a family show. Also, Arthur's probably only about 10 years older than Mordred in the show, and Morgana can't be more than 12 years older than Mordred. I actually really like the subtle way they did it, of having each of them be somewhat parental figures to Mordred (although more directly with Morgana, with Arthur it was mostly more of a big brother vibe, with occasional fatherliness, like the scene where he picks Mordred up.) I really love the relationship between Arthur and Mordred, so the ending broke my heart, but I'm glad they did it that way, rather than have him be on Morgana's side all along and merely pretending to serve Arthur.

@@Cruzader4000 He is their son in some versions, there are quite a few. In some she is a half sister and they share a father, in others they share a mother. In some she is an aunt but still of the same age as him, sometimes they are not related at all. In many she is not an antagonist at all, but in fact helps him get Excalibur and it is he who betrays her. The only real constant is that they seem to always be fated to find each other, have some kind of deep connection, but be in a world that won’t really allow them the peace to be together.

This is the best video out of all the people that made one to this song using "Merlin" As someone who came to the show late, through Netflix, I have a love/hate relationship. I watched it for Katie Mcgrath, because, well, she's basically the most beautiful woman I've seen on screen. Anyway! I feel like this show was written with one hand tied behind their back. I just feel like the Arthur and Morgana relationship wasn't fleshed out well enough, nor was her turn to evil fully explained. The characters were written too autistic and unfeeling toward one another. Morgana was shown to really care for Arthur, but they overplayed the "Arrogance" and cockiness of Arthur to the detriment of Morgana's heel turn and betrayal. I'm not sure why the writers thoughts that Morgana showing up casually and randomly in Arthur's chambers, or people coming in to find her there with him, at odd hours was enough to convince the audience, or at least me, that they were close. I think, had they shown Arthur and Morgana pursue each other, have a forbidden romance, conceive Mordred, and then tear them apart, it would've worked a lot better.Arthur jilting Morgana for Gwen, or something like that on top of the secret sorceress angle and horrible Uther would be enough B plots to push the A plot of her becoming spiteful and evil with hatred toward her best friends (Arthur, Gwen, Merlin). You could pile on all of the things they did do on the show, but having discovered Gwen and Arthur's romance after finding out she's pregnant would be a much better breaking point than Merlin poisoning her. I just feel that if I could go back in time and take charge, This show could've been tweaked so that it was more compelling. Not zap the fun out of it. Just fixed some mechanics of the characters, like I don't know ... show the gang actually being friends and close. that way when we get too. "What happened to you, Morgana? I thought we were friends?" You don't roll your eyes at the TV and ask "Since When?"

phantomwriter05 She turns evil because she found out she's Uther's daughter. So not only she doesn't become queen just because she's a woman (she's older than Arthur) but she was lied to all her life. Uther told her her parents died long ago. I think figuring that out freaking hurts. Especially when it comes from a person that was like a father.

Depends what you call «actual stories». The classical version, the one from late medieval novels, is Mordred being the son of Arthur and MORGAUSE. Only recent novels and movies made him Morgana's son.

the only one who got even close to Merlins power as in as far as character development goes i think even merlin and the great dragon knew that if mordred was allowed to live he would surpass morgana and merlin that and the fact that the great dragon had a vision that mordred is destined to kill Arthur the great dragon saw it all nimueh,morgause, morgana they are nothing compared to mordred why do you think the great dragon was terrified of mordred? and he told Merlin of his vision
