MORE 50 ACRES LAND FOR BENGAL SILICON VALLEY HUB | COMPANIES ARE EYEING AT BENGAL FOR NEXT IT HUB

According to a leading portal Technocrats across the country are eyeing Bengal for investment and there is tremendous demand for land at the Bengal Silicon Valley hub in New Town, state Urban Development minister and chairman of West Bengal Housing & Infrastructure Development Corporation (HIDCO) said on Thursday. "Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has applied for 15 acres of land at Silicon Valley for building IT infrastructure while Adani Enterprises has already been allocated land for setting up a hyper-scale data centre at the same site," Hakim said while inaugurating the 5th Kolkata Garment Expo 2022 at Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan.
The state Cabinet on June 6 gave the approval for allocating 51.75 acres of land to the Adani group for its proposed data centre. He pointed out that recently L&T had conducted a survey involving its employees and 80 per cent of them had stated that Bengal is the best place to work. He reiterated that the law and order situation in Bengal is better than any other state in the country.

I have seen in Chennai that there IT hubs are numerous in numbers but the land parcels are much smaller. That is 5 to 10 acres are at the best. But long stretches of IT hubs are also there at Mahabalipuram road. So we need a combination of both. Smaller hubs of 5 to 10 acres for smaller companies and bigger hubs for bigger companies.

Nothing so rosy yet! Hope you're right and not giving us fake news! Education system must be strengthen in West Bengal (at present it is pretty poor in my view and steadily going downwards). Students from the state schools can't spell things right. Their standard vs other states is pretty awful. Get education system right and then train students to have the right attitude to work. Only then you might find progress in West Bengal. Otherwise life is pretty grim for the students in West Bengal. Why? There is no opportunity for them to progress. All they have now is the opportunity to be "educated coolies" in West Bengal doing repetitive work that is all!! It is so sad but a fact of life : all talented lads from West Bengal goes out of the state at the slightest opportunity (reluctant to return due to poor wages).
