The supersonic bomber planes (nicknamed 'Bones') of the 9th Bomb Squadron from Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, landed at RAF Fairford, a bomber airfield for the US Air Forces in Europe. They joined two other Lancers that arrived days earlier, bringing the total so far to four B-1 Lancers deployed for Bomber Task Force 23-3 in the European theater.

USA wanted Russia weakened... Who is weakened? Russia is much stronger than ever now. Managed to battle test their superior new missilles, enlarged their huge country and gained several milions of new citizens , destroyed NATO weapons inside Ukraine, depleted NATO´s weapons stocks, on the top of that is winning the economical war. Large majority of people on this planet(cca 85% of world´s population) is supporting Russia . NATO became isolated. We(Czech Republic) joined NATO to be safer, not to spark nuclear war together with terr*rist USA which blew up Germany´s Nord Stream last year !!!! BTW , russians are good and clever people, not any orcs. Rusophobia is disgusting and was invented by terr*rist USA. Russia is huge superpower and will always be. NATO countries can only affoard fighting each other as already happened(USA blew up Germanyś Nord stream). What an insane organization !!!!

Yup. The first model was the B-1A, which was Mach 2 capable. A Senator from Delaware who got into the Senate with funny money from the Soviets got on a crusade to kill the B-1A as soon as he got back from meeting with his financiers in Leningrad in 1973. From '73 to '77, he pushed hard to cancel the B-1A program, which finally happened under Carter's first year in office in 1977. Carter's CIA Director had been recruited into the CIA by a Soviet double agent, who was one of the original moles from the 1940s. The Senator's name, you ask? Joseph Biden When Reagan campaigned in 1980, he promised to revive the program, which then became B-1B. We were on the B-1B Combined Test Force at Edwards AFB from 1983-1985. Our test birds consisted of 4 original B-1A prototypes, in various configurations that were not uniform. Rollout of the first production B-1B was later up at Rockwell's area of Plant 42. I remember it well.

Awesome aircraft, beautiful design. They are magic too. I saw one appear and disappear. I worked at an air base as a civilian and where we worked was off to one side of the main airport runway but there was an old hanger and taxi areas but there were never aircraft anywhere near there in the 6+ years I worked there. Came into work one morning and right next to our fence was a B-1B. I was blown away seeing this just be there one day. We got to go look at it, from the outside only. This was in about 1989 maybe? The aircraft had it's own crew and security detail. Was a great experience seeing it up close and as one commenter said, it is a big aircraft in person. 2 days later went to work and it was pppft.....gone lol.

@David-fg7ko The XB70 was an incredible aircraft, but by the time the prototypes were built, they were already obsolete by better defence systems in the USSR. There are, of course, other purposes for conventional bombers so they still keep them around (for now).

We're lucky here to get all 3 types of bombers deploying to this airfield, with easy access all around it you can't miss them. You can go right up and see them by the fence. Once a year it opens it's gates for the Royal International Air Tattoo, and if you're lucky sometimes the aircraft that deploy here are parked in the static display for you to get real up close and personal. You'd be better off going by Dyess in TX than Ellsworth, you can see them out on the deck from the main road. It's a fair old drive though 😂

Looked a little dangerous for them to be landing so closely together. If the second jet had landing problems, it could have veered off the runway and crashed into the other jet. I think that's an unnecessary risk not worth taking and easily avoided by greater separation. At least another 10 seconds separation.

I have been past fairford many, many times and no it isn't, fairford is pretty much flanked by busy roads on at least two sides and there is no official viewing area unlike some other bases, but there is places where you can sometimes pull up to view the incoming aircraft, but some of the nearby quieter roads actually have better views than when you are right up by the base, because you can't really see the aircraft facilities from most roads and the runway is one of the longest in the UK so sometimes being a bit further away is actually better especially when the bombers are taking off and landing because the entire ground just shakes as they roll down the runway and just after take off, they are seriously loud to the point that they have previously shattered windows nearby which had to be replaced with triple pane and/or bulletproof glass depending upon the location of the property in relation to the airfield, fairford is definitely unique, I remember when air force one landed there!!!!!

My grandfather could see war coming and at 18 years of age signed up in early 39' and served as front gunner on Sunderlands until 46' (204 squadron) - some of the stories he told me were from the heroic to the bizaar. My mum still has his log book referencing all sorts of events from the North Sea, Irish Sea, Mediterranean & the West Coast of Africa. He was one of the fortunate ones to survive the 2nd World War and he will always be my idol - a true hero.

The Lough Erne flying boats, particularly the Catalina's with longer flight duration, flew sorties day and night in all weathers, lasting between 14 to 22 hours. All crewed by young men with more courage than myself. Glad to hear your grandfather made it through with stories about his experiences.

Putin and those who are consanguineous with him must be utterly defeated on the battlefield! The sooner the better. Wake up western democracies . Russia along with China and to a lesser degree Iran threaten democracy globally.

Why do you mention ‘Russian fighters’ in this video’s description when none are shown in the video at all? Respectfully, I feel your description is deceptive, even though the video of the B-1 bombers during landing is excellent.

Worked on the B-52D and G never on the bone, though. Just seem's to me, odd that they want to retire the B-1s and upgrade the B-52H model which was built in the early '60s. Many of the B-52 D's and G's were retired and dismantled because of the Start of treaties between Russian and the USA. Maybe just maybe this is the same. Keeping the B-52 versus the B-1

How close to the ground they can fly at 1.7 Mach speed. If my neighbor was being a dick to my other neighbor (that I like.) I would park my dogs in the likeable neighbors back yard too.

Yeah, Moscow real brave as long as the sharp bits aren't flying around. Happily, they will soon be tearing each other apart and we can remove their nukes and let them destroy each other for the next 100 years.
