Don Rickles was the absolute comedian. He had you cracking up every minute he was talking. That's when telling the truth was funny to everybody. Didn't matter who you were. It felt good to laugh at ourselves it keeps you humble.

I am sure it was said elsewhere, but this was at the end of a roast of Rickles, as with all roasts, where the person getting roasted gets to get everyone else. Also, this is 1 of 2 parts to his revenge, he gets even crazier in the second part. He was a master, and while he would reuse pieces of jokes, he was super quick at just grabbing anything and pouncing on someone. A true legend. Great reaction.

Love me some Don Rickles. Was lucky enough to see his show in person at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas in 1989. He insulted everybody, every race, including his own, he was Jewish. But never with hate, always going for a laugh. He said if he didn’t get laughs he would stop insulting people. After every insult said with a straight face, he would smile, letting you know he was just kidding and didn’t mean it. He was so quick witted and made up so much of his comedy off the top of his head reacting to people and situations.

The 70's, especially on Dean Martin's Roast, was Don's best, he was in his prime imo.. I was a kid / teen growing up in the 70's and watching those Roast ( I'm Asian / Oriental btw ) whenever Don would get up there and do his thing, I would laugh my azz off so hard.. What a wonderful time to be growing up in the 70's.. Wouldn't trade it for anything in the world..

Now imagine if you sent some woke fanatic freak back to those days, put them on this roast, and had them give their shpeel. These guys would have ripped them apart with unending humor. Oh, you're trying to change the world, and make mankind repent? Rickles would have gone flat and out crazy, lol. It's just how it was back then. Comics used to make fun of the movie roots, Good times, Sanford and Son, Chico and the man, and welcome back Kotter, nobody cared. Did hardcore racism exist back then? oh hell yeah it was bad. They just held society together mostly with humor, and duct tape.

I'm 60 year old black guy and I will tell you right now, that you 2020 black folks don't understand how things were 50 years ago. Celebrities back then were a lot looser and a lot less sensitive, and could enjoy jokes at their expense and funny jokes. He was not trying to be racist for mean, and the majority of black people at that time knew it and laughed along with him also, if you looked at the whole clip you thought he made fun of everybody white black Puerto Rican Mexican old young 😅. It wasn't just a black folks. Quit being hyper-oversensitive and understand that if the older black folks who are around in the 1960s are enjoying it then you need to chill out and enjoy it too

In my list of classic comidians don rickles is not high up on the list, this is from the fryers club roast back in the day, comedy central didn't invent the roast there are decades of these and they are some of the greatest comedy nights ever, I've scene this entire performance it's hard to get the jokes no seeing what was said about him before he got up on the Mic I don't know how to look them up but if you can find full hour+ roast you will get the ends much better
