Missouri USA here. love the videos. It bothers me that the owners cannot simply put a problem description with the tools. Construction has been my life for 30 years. Keep the videos coming. Tools have always been a part of my life. And i am always hungry for more knowledge about how to fix them.

Whenever I get in grinders from Bosch/Makita/Metabo with a broken or missing switch, I replace both the slider and the switch just in case te slider might be worn out. Both are cheap parts and it doesn't take much extra time to replace both. Still amazes me though how people are sending you baskets full or repairs without any descriptions what's wrong with them.

Fun to see you do realistic repairs and not just fixing everything to make money. On that last Bosch grinder the 700 series... I was expecting to see you put new grease in it (not wash it but scoop out the big part of it and put fresh in. Isn't it worth it? I assume no or you'd do it but why?
@Bob.Jenkins2 ай бұрын
That the Bosch grinder was sent in for an 'easy' switch fix actually means nothing... the job was only easy for you! People aren't only paying for your time but for your experience and knowledge... just as if you go to a Solicitor; you're not just paying for his time but the time he spent learning the in-and-outs of Law, the Courses he took, the training and the experience.

I've had a few of these small Bosch grinders over the years, as well as Makita, and you get good mileage from them considering cost of machines and spares, but the steel fabricators I use in london use nothing but Metabo grinders. They cost more to buy , but they are the only ones that can withstand heavy use with all those metal filling being sucked into machines. How do the cost of metabo spare parts compare, Dean ?
@orionpaillette13982 ай бұрын
Is Fein not popular in the UK ?
@bullard622 ай бұрын
@@orionpaillette1398 You rarely see them, apart from some multitool, which I had one of, but now use Milwaukee M12 multitool. Fein is very expensive German brand, and doesn’t get traction with tradesmen, and doesn’t have dealer network to promote / support it.

So what kind of grease would you use in the gearbox of a grinder and circular saw??

Bicycle lube would work so much better than grease or oil for the ratchet

Nice job, I think the ratchet owner needed a can of WD 40. lol cheers bud have a good one.
@arminarminson85832 ай бұрын
Bit of machine oil or grease is better in that case. WD40 isn't for long time lubrication and internal moving parts like that and evaporates too fast leaving a bit of sticky gum.

Hi Dean, I’ve got a paslode IM 350/90 CT that won’t plunge all the way, I serviced it myself for a different issue and it worked perfectly for a couple shots but then won’t plunge fully so the motor doesn’t start. Any idea what the issue could be? When I have the top of the gun separate from the handle it plunges fine. Hope you can help me out.

#1 that grinder that you had to take it apart to put the switch back in should have just had a screw in the middle. #2 the switch that did not have the screw attachments but just push the ends in and the spring would hold it doesn't have enough contact area for me. I just wonder how much it would cost shipping to get some 220 volt appliances and tools television everything here in America 110 volt.
