Mantooth's "Voicings" is a gtreat book! Even non-pianists can study it to expand their knowledge of harmony, and (with a certain amount of tweaking) the quartal voicings translate very easily onto the guitar.

Beautiful work, man. Covid bound and wracked with anxiety. Little else could ever salvo quite like some iconic Tyner. Cheers from Vancouver.

Thanks, Tony Your generosity and wisdom are very much appreciated. Btw - the stuff in C minor was very reminiscent of Chick's version of 'The Great Pumpkin Waltz'. It's so fantastic, isn't it? People in our . . . ahem . . . demographic . . . tend to get squishy and nostalgic upon hearing it. Cool, airy sounds. Dug it.

Why do you start out explaining quartal chords by showing a hybrid chord (quartal on bottom, third on top.) For people who are beginning and trying to make sense of quartal chords this is just complicating the explanation. Show them a straight set of quartal chords built off of the key of C, with each white note being used as the root.

Because he's doing it using a pentatonic scale. More musical and useful in your playing. Doing it the way you describe you can already do, which takes away the point of doing the video in the first place. Or, if it really upsets you, you could ask Tony for a refund of what you paid him for the knowledge in this video.
