Hee hee! I've been having lots of flashes back to that since goign through all my old college notes! I was thinking about getting in touch with you - Izzy's expressed an interest in becoming a cruise ship entertainer. I think she wants to sing, dance and act as part of a big show type thing in a theatre. Any tips or suggestions? (You could always PM me)

Hi Imo!! Moving is a hassle, but it’s a great motivator for decluttering. I’m always stopping to look at everything too, especially the sentimental things. Those pictures are precious keepsakes. What a gorgeous park, I love the topiaries!! We just don’t have parks like that around here. Have a great weekend, and good luck with all the packing 😊

Did exactly the same walk on Friday 22nd - but mid-morning. Down through the park from the town, from the pier to the barrage. Afterwards went from the pier the opposite way along the shore toward (but not all the way) Lavernock Point. Great video - thanks for sharing. I too have collections of rubber feet from some long forgotten mechanisation!
@PlanetImo5 жыл бұрын
Well, that was a coincidence! I used to always walk the other way towards Lavernock. I used to enjoy exploring the abandoned ww2 bunkers there as a teenager. I wonder if they’re still there? I should take Izzy to see them.
@andrewoconnor51085 жыл бұрын
@@PlanetImo Yes, the whole gun battery and emplacement, bunkers etc. are still there at Lavernock. Although grafitti art covers a lot of it, still an impressive sight

Usually what happens with me is, I would keep the little bits for a while just in case I found some use for them in the future, then time would pass and eventually I’d just throw them out - but then what happens is the very next day, I would find myself in a situation where I would need those bits that I just threw away the day before! I hate it when that happens

She was a cutie all right. Do I honestly miss those days? No - I don't miss those days at all as she was in so much pain & discomfort with her eczema back then. They were hard times. Oh, you save everything and anything. That's what one does. One never knows when an occasion will present itself and that long forgotten bit comes marching forward and becomes just-the-thing to be jury-rigged to solve the latest problem. Oh, no. Never throw any of that seeming detritus away. On the other hand, you watch my videos and have seen the result. And also on the other hand, I've pulled a lot of creative solutions out of my fundament at the last second. That was a pretty thick -- ahem -- floppy disk hidey-hole. Those Wetherspoons joints are really good quality. I like the iron fencing. We had a bunch of that stuff around older more expensive houses in my hometown. We had a custom welder in our town who made it and shipped nationally. He's dead now, of course.
@PlanetImo5 жыл бұрын
There was once a time when it made very good sense to keep hold of everything, when money was so scarce it was a case of make do with what you have, or go without. Now if I need a new cable, or writing paper, a reel of cotton etc, I can afford to buy it, even on a low income, as things cost relatively less than they did. The (previously non-existent) internet availability does away with a lot of the need for many possessions, too, as do smart phones and apps, yet being brought up in the decades before any of these advances, it's natural that we'd hold on to those earlier, once useful, hoarding habits!
@JoeKersey5 жыл бұрын
Oh, so true. And good point about real prices on a lot of things actually dropping when adjusted for inflation. My Dad was the same way, God bless him. He had a huge box of single gloves that he had found in the parking lot at school that he used for really nasty, filthy tasks.
@PlanetImo5 жыл бұрын
Oh now that sounds sensible! I have been known to save my odd or worn-out socks to pack to take on holidays abroad, wear once and dispose of them there to make room in the case for shopping on the return journey! I have actually stopped doing that now as I got sick of having to wear awful socks on holiday.
