You know what else his legitimacy rests on? Surviving the war. And winning it. Any worries about legitimacy are meaningless if they can't win and survive the war, and they won't be able to without the dragonseeds. Even if Daemon joined back with them, it would only improve their odds by a margin but not guarantee a victory. Sunfyre will recover long before the Black's smaller dragons grow up, and if Aemond managed to get Helaena to fight it is going to be a wrap. Dreamfyre is big. Time is not on the side of the Blacks.

Most of the targaryans married among themselves before Jaehaerys changed that, and even then, half of his kids didn't have kids and the ones that did mostly married each other. You are acting as if people with targ descendancy are a dime a dozen at the supermarket. Rhaenyra spend days pouring over scrolls to find ONE guy, and he failed. And that is not mentioning the fact that even if she does find someone, they have to be on her side of the war. Here, let me put names and numbers to it for you: Jaehaerys had 13 kids, but only ended up having 4 official grandchildren: Daemon, Viserys, Aemma and Rhaenys. Aemma and Viserys married each other. That is 2 fucking generations without a single highborn person outside of the family having the blood. The number of people is demonstrably low and be proven mathematically and the odds of success aren't higher either. And lastly, even if you do manage to find someone, good luck convincing them to drop their cushy noble life and risk themselves against a dragon to try and claim it. I have no idea why you and so many people are acting like highborn people with targ blood are easy to find at this point in history. This isn't Game of Thrones era.

Ulf got lucky. Silverwing was said to be the most docile dragon. She was queen alysannes dragon & you can even call her Vermithors girlfriend lol. Hugh Hanmer the one who claimed Vermithor his mother was Princess Saera Targaryen. She was a rather free girl and slept with many men her father King Jaeharys sent her to be a septa but she escaped and went to lys were she worked in a brothel.

The old king regretted how he treated Saera when he was on his death bed. Jaehaerys was extremely softhearted with her and gave her preferential treatment, even when she made a colossal fuck up he still was going to let her go with a slap on the wrist. She was known to harass and torment servants even as a child and would play around with men, teasing them and making them fight each other. She would coerce her noble handmaidens into having sex with men for her entertainemtn and it even resulted in them getting pregnant. She was caught with 3 different knights and admitted to sleeping with all of them. Her punishment for all this? She was simply going to be sent to stay grounded with her sister who was a septa, temporarily. Did she take the very light punishment and accept her guilt? No. She tried to steal a dragon egg and escape, which caused the old king to get so angry that he sentenced all her lovers, who were guilty of a crime, and even ended up killing one of them in a trial by combat that the knight demanded. After that, he finally gave up on her and declared she would join the fate to pay for her actions, but she escaped to Lys to become a courtesan and had a bunch of bastards, that she would send to Kings Landing as a mockery.

How are people so utterly blind to Jace's reasoning?! He is absolutely correct. The *only* thing that elevates him and his brother above the accusations of bastardy is dragons. The *only* thing that elevates the Targaryens above other nobles is dragons. Lose that privilege and not only Rhaenyra's inheritance is thrown into utter jeopardy, but the throne itself is threatened. Giving dragons to other families is extremely dangerous, which is why it is essentially never done. Giving dragons to the baseborn is perilous to the extreme. They have no inherent loyalty to anyone. They have no sense of duty and honor that, successfully or not, is bred and taught to the nobles since birth. Most importantly of all, they have no use for the whole institution. And you give them nukes. You give them the very thing that will allow them to overthrow the institution. Jace is stating the truth - the plan is risky to the point of being insane. "You can't just leave the room". So what is she supposed to do? Stand before a dragon who is certain to kill at least some of the people before him and die with them?

The first one: Vermithor, the second largest in the world, first ridden by King Jaehaerys the first. Vermithor was an extremely fierce dragon that fought along caraxes and vhagar during the Fourth dornish war. Its looks along with its attitude gave it the nickname "The Bronze Fury". The second one: Silverwing, ridden by Queen Alysanne. This silver dragon was partnered with Vermithor and they often cuddled in the dragonpit. She was another dragon that was quite large, but not as large as Vhagar or Vermithor.

By doing that the house Targaryen loses prestige and superiority if anyone can ride a dragon, since they have the reputation of being untouchable and being the only ones capable of owning dragons and with this type of moves they lose all kinds of credibility, also they are unrecognized bastards and doing this gives them rights that they shouldn't, so there can be a big problem with the succession as any bastard will want to claim his position and then they will want to take his throne, then it would be more difficult than it already is for Jace to claim his succession if it happens.

If all dragons can be claimed by anybody than the illusion of the Targaryen power and dynasty goes away n that itself destroys the monarchy to which rhaenyra and jace have their only power from. Giving dragons to lowborns with Targaryen look is such a dangerous decision, they can literally one day just decided to usurp the throne themselves and betray Rhaenyra. Jace as a legitimate heir would not be sufficient from this point. Jace idea was to seek for highborn with Targaryen blood, as they were sworn to the Realm with oaths to be uphold, compared to lowborn they can just flip the switch out of nowhere and causes uprising to the throne as they have nothing to lose.

So the mother of Hugh is Saera Targaryan. In season 1, Lyonel Strong said to Viserys that Jaehaerys's daughters drove him crazy, and it is particulary the case for Saera. She often made cruel jokes around her and took advantage of her status as a princess to have immunity from all the stupid things they did. She was extremely beautiful and loved having people at her feet. She was manipulative and arrogant. Growing up, she is caught in a sordid affair and her father learns that she and her high-born friends had sexual relations with a half-thug squire, at her initiative. Jaehaerys will realize with horror that in reality, Saera slept with 3 other boys. Faced with the young girl's distrust, Jaehaerys will send her to Vieilleville so that she can enter the Sisters of Silence, far from luxury and her condition as a princess in the hope of obtaining repentance from her, but Saera 'will flee by pushing a Septa down the stairs, breaking her hip. She will flee across the strait, selling her body for the passage, then working in a pleasure house in Lys before ending up managing it. Jaehaerys disowned her. In the books, several of his bastard children showed up at the great council of 101 in hopes of claiming the crown that fell to Viserys. According to the series, it seems that Hugh Marteau is one of Saera Targaryen's bastards

Can we stop doubting my boy Jace? He's literally one of the best members of the Blacks. He's right over & over again. Rhae is being stupid when it comes to Daemon. I get it, he's being prideful. But for the Kingdom's sake she shouldn't have argued with him & chased him off. Caraxes is the second most battle seasoned Dragon behind Vhagar. YES more so than the Bronze Fury who was ridden by a pacifist. (Yes I know King J had his tough side. But his entire reign is defined by the 60 years of peace he brought.) Jace doesn't trust these randoms because their allegiance isn't proven yet. Huge is likely to be more loyal to his wife than Rhae. And Ulf.. we literally know nothing of his personal life other than he has some drinking buddies. At least Adsam has a brother who is super loyal to Coryls & Addam himself seeks approval from his distant Dad. There's good reliable allegiance there. They got lucky Seasmoke made a good choice. But Huge & Ulf are unknowns. Huge's daughter died, he knocked a dude out to get food. That dude probably had family too! So Huge is willing to get dirty to get what he wants for his people. That's dangerous when he rides the second biggest fucking dragon in the world! And again who the hell even is Ulf at this point? He don't know him or his allegiance well at all.
