Oh, and for your struggle with that tiny power jack board, they sell some Weller branded “Helping Hands” at the Home Depot. It looks like a little man with a magnifying glass for the head, a metal block for a stand, and it’s feet, and some aligátor clips for hands. It’s actually quite handy for electronic soldering jobs.

You’re ripping off the grounding pads from lifting that sheet metal noise shield. Why would you not take your time taking it apart correctly??!! Those are rare man!!!

I always love opening some game or console and the only thing i need to do to make it work again is fixing someone elses fix :D

I agree, as long as it is simple. I've got a Turbo Duo I haven't really bothered with that someone completely botched. Every cap was replaced and looks like hell, the board is burned, and there's broken traces all over - all due to one person f-ing it up. That's going to take a lot of work. I don't like stuff like that.
